So if anyone watches the fireside chat with lurker he talks about the ego ram. It has a cushion on the bolt catch. It pretty much looks like an oring. The cushion is supposed to provide some give on the end of the bolt travel to make it lighter on paint. Why isn't there one on the timmy eigenram? Well when mine comes in the mail we might just find out :D!!!!

In case anyone is wondering WTF he's talking about, here is the fire-side chat with Lurker (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eb65mJnxAAE).

Interesting idea for Egos but I don't know if that would work with the Timmy rams since it looks like the bolt-pin catch on Timmy rams is already machined to close tolerances to eliminate slack or play between the pin and the sides of the catch groove. You probably wouldn't be able to fit anything in that groove besides the pin itself...

which is something i already pondered and came up with a new bolt pin design.

one thats machined slightly smaller and is machined out to wrap a little for around the ram and let the ram sit in the machined groove.

i have drawing but no scanner.

Good idea.. a custom bolt pin might allow that idea to work... I wonder how much play is involved in the ego system between the pin and the catch to enable that "cushioning" effect.

Interested to see your results!

Also please keep in mind that for proper performance with a lighter ram you'll need a lighter poppet spring
