I am currently using the Function Bolt in my Dark, and was wondering if anyone has used this bolt before and how it compares to other bolts.

r dark's based off the 2k2 bolt and such? if so then u should stay with stock, they r the best.

Yes the Function bolt for the Dark Intimidator is an Alias platform bolt (not backwards compatible with 2k2 bodies) - I've never personally used one though so I can't comment, sorry!

They are great Bolts for being O-ringless. Right up there with the Hardshells but for the best performance you want the Stock Alias Bolt since it has Orings on it and it improves everything. Better Consistency, Better Accuracy & Better Efficiency!

Incubus speaks the truth. There's a mentality in the sport that if an aftermarket product comes out it has to be better than the stock one. In the case of most Intimidator upgrades, they're anything but. The stock Bolts are fantastic at what they do and surpass the aftermarket ones.

Got my stock bolt today and got to shoot it..all i can say is WOW!....Less kick....interesting for a bigger and heavier bolt, much more consistant, and just sooo smooth :D Thanks for talking me into guys!

If there is any question...Listen to these guys! Stay stock with the bolt!

Yes, Orange bolts have been discussed at length in the past - the verdict was that they break (pin snaps, or bolt cracks) easily, and the recommendation has been to stick with the stock bolt. Interestingly enough, Orange bolts are recommended for markers such as the DM/PM series, in which they apparently work great. But not for Timmies....

I don't know if Orange has improved their Intimidator design or not, anyone have any new info on Orange?

^ you got it right my Brothah.

To further enforce your point though... It's only a matter of time before they get hit with a lawsuit if they don't change their construction on their Timmy Bolts. Though in the minority, many have snapped in either point as you stated and the bolts have shot out the rear on some, narrowly missing the person.

Consider 98% of us fire our Markers after teching/routine maintenance WITHOUT using the protective head gear... Imagine what could potentially happen should this failure occur during this time the face is unprotected.

B'sides they don't outperform the stock Bolt so why try fixin' something that isn't broken.

I believe in Teching all guns with even a pair of shop glasses, but degassed ( the gun) should cause no immediate danger correct? or are you talking about firing the gun with out eye protection like over a chrono with your mask off?

Degassed you will have no problems. He meant test firing, dry firing aired up, or in the backyard with paintballs or what have you.
