This sucks to be without power. Trees down. Local paintabll parks not open, hehe. People without water, food, ice, power, no internet. Except me I am at work and they are on generators without AC.

I live in west NY, I know all to well what its like having bad winters which can make traveling difficult and dangerous sometimes. For hurricanes, I know what thats like, I lived on the gulf coast of FL in 92 when hurricane andrew hit. Will never forget.

I am lucky to live where I live in Pennsylvania, but I am right on the Delaware River and it floods over often. I have to keep getting evacuated luckily I am on a hill so my house is fine but people have lost everything.

Central Ohio is actually reeling from what was left of Ike. Last night we had 75mph winds and tons of distruction. Our Homes and Trees are not quite built to take 75mph winds. Just like we laugh at 3" of snow and 1/2" of snow will shut Florida and Texas DOWN we get 75mph winds out town is crushed and to you 75mph winds is time to go surfing.

In California we just have earthquakes. A lot of people think we are lucky, but I know a buddy of mine who says he lived on a lot where the land and soil was so soft, some houses sunk into the ground. It's really scary

I'm originally from upstate NY so I'm used to 3' of snow, now I live in J-ville FL and we got hit with Fay a few weeks ago. Thankfully I had power through the entire thing but I had a few friends who came over because they lost theirs.

I'll tell you the truth, I'm actually happy being away from the snow storms in NY, those were by all means the worst I've seen so far, then again, I haven't gotten hit with a hurricane yet, only a tropical storm....

There are people here still without power and water. You should see the people going crazy at the gas stations yelling and cussing at each other. I know of one person that pulled a knife and the police had to lay him down. They want the gas to power the generators.

MD 1/2 of Central Ohio is also still without power becasue of Ike. Our only saving grace is it's 72* and low humidity with over night lows in the mid 40s.

It's a bummer on all the food going bad but that's about it. Back a few years ago an Ice Storm knocked out my power on Christmas Eve for a week but it was winter and we have a Natural Gas Gravity furnace for back up heat and we just put the food in coolers on the back porch.

Yeah luckily a cool front came in to lighten the load but there is still lots of humidity here.

My wife's parents got their power on tonight and now they are out of our house and back at theirs. Relief.

yeah, thats pretty much what northern kentucky is like. the worst i saw was a tree fall on a powerline over a house, but the house was empty. they said in louisville all the gas stations except for 3 lost power, and the ones that were still able to sell gas were charging $5 a gallon!

i used to live in colorado, and actually miss the amount of snow we used to get. my brother was born in april, and the day after he was born (or it may have been before) we got hit with a blizzard. in april! but here and in north carolina, people have no idea how to drive in the snow. we had a bad snow storm in february, and only 5 of us made it to work. me, the overnight manager that was there and didnt go home, the morning manager, and 2 other girls that made it into work at about 5-6 am. its sad, i made it to work in my fwd 4 banger just fine (20 min. drive), and there's guys with trucks and stuff sliding off the road!

Dragon I understand man. Clean up outside wasn't as bad but it was hot! I couldn't even go back to work until last friday cuz of the outages. I just got power back at my house today. It was frustrating to go for a week without electricity but I'm glad I have it back. Now I hope everyone else gets their power back soon. That way we can get back to playing some paintball.
