hey i opened up my storm the other day to lube the poppet and i noticed that my poppet has a delrin top and my ramsleeve does not have or require a plastic cup seal? but i am using a 2k2 ram and ramcap. so do i have an alias ram sleeve and poppet?

two possibilities
previous owner could have switched out the entire ramsleeve assembly and installed an alias sleeve with matching alias poppet.
or
more than likely, the previous owner switched out the standard 2k2 poppet/cupseal combo and replaced it with an "Empire" poppet. this poppet is similar to the Alias in that it has the delrin head, and does not require a separate cupseal disc (the delrin head is the cupseal) - however the Empire poppet works on the 2k2 ram sleeve (whereas the alias poppet would not).
can you post a pic of your poppet? we'd be able to tell you more for certain

i will post pics of the poppet and the sleeve tomorrow (after practice so i have to take apart anyway)
As crankwalk said, it's probably an empire poppet.

Looks to be an Alias poppet - so you have an Alias ram sleeve too. The empire poppet has a larger diameter head:

no performance difference that i am aware of between alias and 2k2 rams
alias ram's only advantage is that it does not use a bumper that wears out
If you were to use a alias ram, wouldn't you need also to use an alias ram cap? Maybe that's a stupid question as he has an alias ram sleeve.

No, not really a stupid question. Due to the design of the Alias ram, he would indeed have to use an Alias style ram cap, or a "bumperless" ram cap such as the Hybrid AP knob which accomodates 2k2 rams without the bumper, or the alias style spike rams. He wouldn't be able to run the Alias ram with a standard 2k2 ram cap.
