I am sick and tired of these stupid people you post comments on youtube without any knowledge or fact to back them up. Then when you call them on it they try to argue their way around it with 'side points' that aren't even being disagreed upon.

Just now some dip**** tried to argue with me that M4A1's and M16 are all .22's so I need to stfu and do research.:eek: I guess he didn't know that they are .223 which is the same as 5.56 not .22lr as I was referring and said. I mean I was just at the local range, Chabotgunclub, shooting an M16, how the hell are you going to tell me that it shoots .22's. I know a ton about firearms and I hate when people tell me I'm wrong about something I KNOW I'm right about. So to shutup this guy up I sent him the links tp the pics of each a .223 and a .22lr. Right now I have a loaded gun within 3ft of me, and people think I know nothing about guns, pft.

Uh... dude... the .223 is technically a .22 calibre round, as calibres are rounded to the nearest hundreth. As such, the GRAIN of the round is different, but NOT the calibre. You could very well fire a .22 LR round in a .223 round's casing through the firearm (casing difference is obvious, rim fire VS centerfire as well as the sheer size).

The main difference between the M4 and the M16 (not even going into versions) is that the M4 is a carbine whereas the M16 is not.

BTW... do research. :D Had to say it, sorry! Hahaha!

bahaha! i got in an argument with tim (bigred) about that before. he tried telling me that you needed a whole new chamber conversion to shoot .22s in an AR-15 :P

i also had a kid argue with me that my spyder wasnt capping out at 11 bps in my vid and that his ion was. i told him to goldwave it and prove me wrong. he never did.

Yes you are correct in the same sense that a .22-250 is a .22 but the case is from a .30-06. And the same way a .357mag is really a .38spl with a longer casing, or the .40S&W is a shortened 10mm. BUT in the world of firearms if you say .223 everyone automatically know what you mean, as goes with when you say .22. The original context for the argument on youtube was about an upper for the M16 which converts it to a .22LR fed from a drum mag on top, like an old Lewis machine gun form WW1. I was only referring to .22LR when some idiot said that M4's and M16 are .22 not knowing much of the differences in casings. With firearms as soon as you change the casing you've made a new "caliber".

This is 100% correct. and actually .223 is said as Two Twenty-Three and .22 is said Tewnty-Two

I'm not a big fan of the .223 round yeah it's a very fast round but it's small. Give me a real round like a 30-40 Kraig or a 30-06 or even a Thopmson Sub-Machine Gun with drum clip of .45ACPs.

30-30's my favorite... Friend has a nice Model 94 Winchester. Very nice rifle, very nice deer round. Only complaint I have about it is specific to his rifle: someone put a smaller stock on it before he got it for their wife. Trying to wrap my beastly ol' arms around that little ol' stock is a pain....

he tried telling me that you needed a whole new chamber conversion to shoot .22s in an AR-15 :P
If I remember right, I was referring to how to do it "properly". The .22LR round is shorter than a .223 Remington, so you risk the chance of it not loading right if you do as I said and just change the casing. You CAN do it, but I'm not going to be anywhere near you when you do.

TLTL: You know I just had to get your goat, right? :D

i have to say that i love the AR-15, because compared to the 30-06, it has almost no recoil. i could shoot it all day.

if you don't mind me invading your thread, i'll put a pic up of the AR. dont have any good pics of the other guns though. :(

This thread is so far off topic I think it would take a full search party of sherpas three days to get us back down to base camp.

No it wouldn't Squirlly, it's more like 2 full search parties and a whole week to get this thread back on topic.:P
yea DF put some pics up. I like AR's as well, only not my buddies. The trigger on his is the worst trigger I've ever uesd, and I own Mosin-Nagants:eek:
But Mosin's aren't bad considering there only $80 a piece.

Nice looks like he has the M4 barrel on there. And the age thing didn't stop me, hehehe, shhhh it's a secret.

its not the age, its the fact that i have to wait 4 more years before i can apply for US citizenship (both my biological parents are german, and my step dad never legally adopted me :() stupid red tape!

i want to say its a DPMS upper and Stag Arms lower, and i cant remember if he got the chrome-lined barrel or ceramic. the grip he actually bought for his m4 that he used in iraq, and the red dot he found when they were cleaning up at the end of their deployment.

since this thread is so far gone I'll post it here.
I just ordered a scope mount for my Enfield, WOOTERZ!! So in about another week I'll have it scoped out, hehehe sorry I just had to make a pun.
A word of advice for anyone who owns or wants an Enfield,

......GET ONE!!!!.........Enfields are awesome.......
another word of advice is

.......................NEVER AND I MEAN NEVER USE REMINGTON CORE-LOKT RIFLE AMMO!!!!!!..........the lead nose will jam the weapon and once you get over 100yrds the rounds like to tumble. Plus it costs way too much money.:tdown::tdown::tdown:
