Now if I were to get a new poppet for my 2k2 ram sleeve which one should I get and which is the best? And does it matter that I am using an alias from block?

Empire poppet (then you don't have to deal with separate cupseal) and it absolutely doesn't matter that you're using an Alias block

I think that Crankwalk hit all of the points. The only thing that would change which poppet you are using is the ram sleeve, so as long as you have a 2k2 ram sleeve an Empire poppet will work fine.

kind of on topic... do you need to have an alias style front block to use an alias ram sleeve and poppit
crankwalk

Absolutely not. You can use 2k2 front block or any other front block that fits (classic dualies, aftermarket, Gen4, etc)

Jammin702- You can have any front block go with any ram sleeve, so the answer is no, you don't need an Alias front block to use and Alias ram sleeve.
Edit: I was so close to beating crankwalk to the answer, lol.

since we are on the topic what are the pros to haveing a 2k5 ram sleeve and popit

No pro to using a 2k5 ram sleeve because you can use a 2k2 ram sleeve with Empire poppet and acheive the same reliability and ease of maintenance as an Alias(2k5) sleeve/poppet combo.
however, a 2k5 sleeve and poppet definitely has the advantage over a 2k2 sleeve/poppet in its purest sense because 2k2 has separate cupseal that may become damaged more easily than a 2k5 setup with builtin cupseal. performance difference is negligible/nil though. its just the ease of maintenace really.

jrmiller- good question, I never really thought about it.
crankwalk- Can you use an Alias ram in a 2k2 ram sleeve? Thanks.

IRStookmySpyder: yes - but you must have the proper ram cap. if you are using a 2k2 ram cap you will need to upgrade to an Alias ram cap or hybrid bumperless. If you already have one of the last two caps i mentioned you'd be good to go.

crankwalk- OK, then I am good. I have a Hybrid bumper-less ram cap, so I just have to get a Alias ram instead of a 2k2. With the upgrade ram's like E-pek are their Alias ram's lighter then their 2k2 rams? If not then what are the advantages of using a Alias ram over a 2k2 ram? Thanks.

ram weights posted here
http://www.intimidatorowners.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1816&postcount=3
the simplest upgrade ram IMO is the eigenram.. just plug and play
epek may have a negligible advantage because the weight can be tuned. but i've always run eigenrams whenever i could, because of the ease of use.
the alias ram's advantage is not in weight.. its in the fact it doesn't have to use a separate ram bumper that wears out and requires replacement

crankwalk- I remember you posting those weights, I just wasn't sure if an Alias eigenram weighted less then a 2k2 eigenram. On the eigenram doesn't it have a separate ram bumper that will wear out after a while? Thanks.

there's only one eigenram for 2k2's and aliases. and one for gen4s which is a little different to take advantage of the Gen4's balanced ram sleeve.
lurker made the gen2-gen3 eigenram in the shape of the 2k2 ram so it can be used in both 2k2 style and alias style. the best thing to do is shave the mushroom head off the ram bumper, leave the stem inside the eigenram, and use a hybrid ram cap. its in his online instructions as well

crankwalk- Is the mushroom head the end that is rounded? Thanks.

crankwalk- OK, I read it. I think that I will get one of these rams later on once I get some more money. Thanks for all of the help and sorry for the thread jack Jester of Paint.

Do you guys think that I should get a Lurker ram, Hybrid feedneck, or an Empire front block first.

lurker ram is probably the best upgrade out of those you mentioned

Be careful with lightened rams and empire/2K2 poppets. They work better with Alias Sleeve/poppet combinations. The Empire poppet has much more face to it and as a result has a harder time opening when the ram strikes it. You're more likely to have issues getting your marker to velocity with an Empire poppet than an Alias style poppet/sleeve.
