supposedly pics of the vice should start surfacing next week... Forget which Blast tech on PBN posted it. I'm not sold on the looks of the protege though, operationally i'm sure it blows the gen 3's and 4's out of the water but the looks IDK...

The vice may be better presented (I hope) it the looks department. But with all the hype, I feel somewhat let down by the protégé.

Sure it rips, and is light. But so is my Empire II with a M6 Tadao board.

If this was surposed to be a contender to prise ego's out of the hands of competative players, then the vice had better be more aesthetically pleasing and kinder on the eye. Becuase thats the only think I think the ego offers players, the fact that it has nice milling.

As for the internals and what changes there are to enhance performance, well no comment! I'll wait for some one to provide a detailed review.

Anyway, why am I winding myself up over it. It'll never be on sale here in the UK, so I'll never get the chance to pick one up.

Looks like a Marq frame attached to a body that's a cross between an Alias and a Defiant II. I like the body, but would have preferred a more "timmy"-ish frame.

one thing im not stoked about is the fact that you cant switch trigger guards. or can you? they look permanent to me but i've never really played with the marq too much.

I don't like the looks of it very much at all. I was really set on getting one of these somehow, but after seeing it completed I'm not as excited as I was... it's a shame how much looks can ruin something for people, though I'm sure it's amazingly nice regardless. I'll wait to see the Vice, hopefully nicer milling there.

i saw some pics of the internals. the poppet is accesable by just unscrewing the lpr. it has a manifold noid and yeah.

Are the days of different bodies gone? One of the things I like about the old timmies are the different body styles to be had. I see the empire Infamous, but it isn't much of a stretch.

Do the Marqs vary much? I see a few differences, but not like the old timmies. I will miss the dragons, dogs, empires, abombs, z's, rippers, etc.

The frame does resemble that of a Marq, but generaly when talking about what a marker looks like you refer to the milling of the body.

Frames come and frames go, but as soon as you get a new body it's an entierly new gun.

I guess it's supposed to mirror the exposed portion of the bolt, but it does look sad against the rest of the body. Not much change in the HPR. I guess those will continue to be aftermarket targets.

I really did not care for the torpedo to much and run a dye hyper 2 reg, not just for the freeness of the action, but the location for the micro line fitting is not up at the top; and I can rotate it off my gun by just unscrewing it. I hated taking off my grips, taking the screws off the body, then pulling off your trigger guard just to take your HPR off, that used to blow....
still no one has seen this Vice? I want to see what im getting in a week.. heheeh I CANT WAIT !!! guess Ill go search youtube if I find a link to it ill post it :D
