I have a Ashcroft guage and a new Bob Long guage but when I put the ashcroft I would set it to 55 psi and when I swap to BL guage it only reads 40 psi which one is more accurate between the two?

Ashcroft.

the ashcroft is likely to be more accurate, as long as it is in good condition, and has never been over pressurised

Ashcroft is easier to read and thus more accurate. The more accurate gauge is technically the one that is perfectly zero when the marker has been degassed.

it depends. do both sit exactly at 0 when un-aired? my ashcroft sits at -10

i will check the difference later when I degass the marker
