Come on guys, don't be shy. Lets see a show of hands as to how many of us timmy users are there in the UK?

It would be so nice to "bump" into fellow timmy ballers at events/tournaments.

Hi Dean,

Gee Tee here from "darn sarf" in the UK

New to the Timmy scene - but an old skool baller at heart :D

Current stable of markes includes....

Two late 80's pumps - Jackal (bushmaster clone) & a WGP Sniper 2

2 mid 90's Autocockers - mostly in bits

Automag - upgraded to the hilt - LVL10 X-valve, ULE body, ULE on/off, Mag Smith trigger, AGD intelliframe, custom rail etc... etc...

A pair of E1 Blades - 1 with 2004 WGP V/F body, and the other a 2005 WGP pro-stocker. Both with EVO/Belsales internals, rams & QEV's, and the prostock now has Zero B board.

2005 Midnight Ego - fairly stock apart from 06 CCU kit, cure bolt and Tadao M7 gangster board

with the latest addition to the family being the 05 Empire Timmy

Note to self.... need to flog a few markers ASAP ;)

Didn't I sell you an eclipse drop forward? I used the username of keeno.

Nice to hear from a fellow brit. You'll like it here, as the guys are great and more than helpfull.

Looking through your list, you could do with trimming it down a bit. I'm currently selling off one of my own collection pieces, as "her in doors" is nagging about too much space being taken up with my toys.

My current harem of markers include...

A dust silver and gloss black Russian Legion Intimidator (up for sale).

An Empire II Gen4 Intimidator in dust yellow - black fade with some nice upgrades (eigenram, tadao m6 board, pbk hard detents, delrin regulator pistons and hybrid grips).

A 2k4 Alias re-build project. Basically I've been sourcing parts from guys in the states from various forums and internet stores, to completely re-build an intimidator from scratch. I hope to post a thread once it's finished, which should be soon.

So are you actively playing in any tournaments?

Seeing as you are new to timmy's, if you have any problems or need any advice on anything, either post a thread or drop me a PM. I'll be more than happy to help you out as best I can.

By any chance did you play North -v- South this year?

Catchya later, and welcome.:)

Hi Dean,

Yep that's me - Gee Tee from the PGi forum

See you are a die hard Timmy fan, and it's nice to know I'm in with the right crowd for Timmy related stuff. I will be pruning the marker selection shortly. Will try to shift some of the cocker stuff, and at least one of the Eblades has to go... possibly both, but I cant really bring myself to part with the Mag :(

As for tournamennts... no not really. Used to play a lot of tourny's back in the early/mid 90's, when the UK still had a busy 5, 7 & 10 man woodsball circuit. I did the rounds with a team called Split Personalities, and we picked up a few trophies here and there. The team dropped out of circulation when the game moved to super-air & X ball format, but a few of us still keep in touch and play woodsball scene as walk-ons for fun now.

Wouldn't mind trying one of the big games for a laugh

Assume you've had a bash at the North vs South gig?

2k2 Timmy user here - I'm still getting to grips to it. It feels so much more sturdy than my back marker ( Ion :S )

Got an E-Bladed Black Magic Autococker on its way which I'm hoping will replace the ion as my backup marker :)

I post under the same name on the PGi and Walkon Zone forums, and you'll see me playing at Sabotage in Milton Keynes and Campaign in Cobham. I'm very new to the sport really ( always wanted to as a kid , but couldn't really afford it )

KeenDean

Glad to have you on board Madcowman. Slowly but surely more brits are finding intimidators to be a great choice of marker. Like I have said to Gee Tee before, if there's anything you need, then either ask the masses here at IOG, or drop me a PM. We're a great bunch of guys:D.

I'm sure you'll get to grips with your 2k2 timmy. I never owned one that old. I went straight to the Gen3 Alias style of timmy's, and just loved the rate of fire and feel of them.

P.S. I can't fault you for looking to drop the Ion for something else.

I played the N-v-S game this year. It was fun, but I prefered tournaments. Don't get me wrong, I've played most tournaments events from woodsball in the early to mid 90's, hyperball, and supairball. But big games are just a spray-n-pray fest. You'd run to a barricade, unload a full back pack at a guy behind a log, then get up and walk back to re-pot up.

I've been out of the tournament sciene for toooooooo long, about three years. A majority of my team left, leaving a small group still willing to play. Unfortunately the numbers weren't enough to compete in tournaments, so we've kind of drifted apart.

I'm hoping to look at joining a team in the new year, maybe someone from the uk master KOTH series.

By the way, nice picture of the 05 Empire. Did you pick it up on p8ntballer by any chance?

Dean,

Yup - got the Timmy off one of the guys on the PGi forum. Fella called Chris who I met with locally to do a cash deal & I'm well chuffed. Looking forward to the Timmy's first outing at Holmbush's 5 man woodsball tourny in late November.

Hi to Madcowman too BTW - nice to see another brit on the IOG

Welcome to the boards if anyone can get you the parts you need is these guys.

On another note I'm sorry to say I have to cheer against Manchester United when they play Fulham. Columbus, Ohio still claims Brian McBride as "our star" in fact if he ever comes back to the states to play he has to play for the Columbus Crew or get their permission to play for another team.

Morning chaps - long time reader, first time poster here!

Some of you may know me - especially Stan - used to play for Monkey Love, Tigers Am and Cynergy, now looking after Spike and the kids on DXS Effect and rocking the 2k5'd Dragon, Alias, Russian Legion and just got Big Kids old Ironmen which I will be 2k5'ing over the next few weeks.

I'm also in the habit of stocking up on spares when I order so feel free to shout if anyone needs anything.

Pinki
09-18-2008, 07:56 AM
Those shirts look cool - I may have to pick one up for practice, do you think I can get DXS logo's stuck on them by animal?

Forgot to mention - I play on the same team as Rich (Rabies/Rabid Technologies), so if you guys are looking to upgrade your board/software, then I highly recommend these bad boys!

KeenDean
09-18-2008, 12:42 PM
Hey Pinki,

Welcome.

If you require specific sponsors on the jersey, I believe you will have to contact Animal directly to order the jersey. This is because there is an additional design fee for the selection and placement of other images, logo's, etc...

Dude...

First of all welcome to the world of Timmy lovers. It's always nice to see and welcome new members from this side of the pond.

Second of all, I'm afraid you'll find NO stores stocking Timmy spares this side of the pond. For some reason, the timmy never really was popular with the UK crowd and therefore few stores stocked them let alone spares.

You're best bet is in fact to contact the forum owner here, "crankwalk" as he sells quality spares for the timmy. Thing is obviously he is over there in the USA, and even with express priority USPS international shipping, you won't get the parts in time for this weekends game.

If I were you, seeing as it's your 1st try out for a tournament team, I'd ask around and see if you could borrow a gun from someone.

Sorry to be the downer on your problem, but I'm afraid there's not much else you can do.

g-forceuk
09-23-2008, 08:54 AM
guess im using the ion lol cheers for the help

KeenDean
09-23-2008, 11:26 AM
Ha ha. Another shining example of an ION as a reliable back up.:P

If it's your first try out for a new team, then the team captain should be more than sympathetic to your problem.

It isn't like when I used to play for a team, where I was the only technically minded player. I would always miss the first two games of the day due to sorting out other team members problem with their markers, due to poor maintenance or a lack of TLC.

If you are going to buy some gear to get you're timmy fixed, then I advice you to buy additional items (if funds will allow), because you'll never know when such a situation will raise it's ugly head again.

Good luck for the weekend anyway, and enjoy...

I know that comment was directed towards Dean and seeing that I'm not from the UK I can only make recommendations for spares I like to keep around. Screws/washers, barbs/hose, and of course o-rings along with dow 55 & triflow.

KeenDean
09-25-2008, 05:36 AM
Here’s what I think the essentials should be in your tool box.

O-rings
Barbs
Barb fibre washers
LPR hose
Various screws
Lube (Dow 33, Dow 55, and TriFlow).
Main battery harness
IR break beam eye set
Eye harness
Solenoid valve

More or less everything listed can be purchased from crankwalk here on this forum. Trust me, this guy is a top bloke, and he just loves dealing with us Brits. Psssst…He can be bribed with a packet of Jammie Dodgers.

Drop him a line and he’ll hook you up. He offers an o-ring kit, which comes in a little box, with the necessary lube and enough o-rings to service 5 markers.

Ideally you need at least x1 spare of everything in your marker. Obviously hard parts like rams won’t need replacing unless you’re up-grading. I know it may mean spending a bit of cash right now, but you’ll never be in the situation again where you don’t have any parts for an emergency repair. Remember, parts are none existent in the UK, so you’re dependant on purchases from the USA. So I advise you to stock up. If you need tips on buying internationally, drop me a PM and I’ll give you some hints and tips.

Really though, it all depends on what you want. If you love your timmy, and want to cherish and look after it then get the spares. If you feel that you’d rather go with something more main stream, then sell it on. I personally love my timmy, (when I eventually get to finish it) and although I may own other markers I feel as though I could never really ditch my timmy. Hence the reason why I’m still a moderator on this fantastic forum.

Here’s some links for you:

Crankwalk products:http://www.intimidatorowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5

Paintballkingdom: http://www.paintballkingdom.com/index.asp They sell internationally to the UK. Although shipping can be expensive, (remember to sellect USPS shipping and not UPS, as there is a HUGE difference in price) they are good for hard parts that you can't find here on the forum. Remember, check the BST forum for any part out sales that members may be selling. It can work out a lot cheeper than buying new items from a store.

Sounds like a great bargain you've picked up there. Can't wait to see the pictures.

I'm booked for the big N-v-S game, so I'll keep an out for you. It won't be too hard to find you, as I'm also on the Northern team. I'll just look out for a timmy, as there won't be too many there.

I would like to add, I work in paintball, I have a site and market 39 around the UK, and we're looking to open a shop at the site this year. I'm looking to get Bob Long Dealership so that there will be somewhere in the UK to get spares and the latest shiney things from - Presumably this should be pretty popular with the guys on here!

Sorry mate, but I don't know of anyone who is a tech here in the UK who could flash boards. For some unknown reason, the popularity of the timmy never really caught on over here.

What board is it?

If it's a BL board, you may be able to sent it to BLAST in the USA. If it's a Tadao, you could send it to Will Roberson at Tadao Technologies. Other than that mate, I don't know what else to suggest.

Another UK timmy owner!

Mine is an 06 Alias. I picked it up for £85 from a guy on p8ntballer, and have now found it used to belong to the London Tigers and was used in the 06 CPL - has a lovely board with all sorts of naughtiness inside ;) I've added a CP ASA and a HyperII reg (which I think matches the milling nicely).
I've also managed to source an older, knackered, Alias (fried board and most of the screws stripped!) which I've stripped down is being used for spare bards, solenoid and so on.
Currently the eyes are playing up, but otherwise it works AWESOME and really turned heads at the last tourney I went to...

Looks to be a Frenzy, on start up the screen reads "Bob Long, 110" which I believe is the software version. Apparently there is someone on p8nt called rabies (rabid technologies) who knows his way around it but his website is just a logo and nothing else it seems so we'll see if he's still doing his thing.

Idealy as we're opening a shop this year we'd be looking to do flashing and the like from there, it would certainly help out some of the guys over here and hopefully increase the popularity!

As I said on P8nt - Richard (Rabies on P8nt) will flash stock frenzy boards to his latest code, I have it in my 2k5'd Dragon, 2k5'd Ironmen & Russian Legion and they all perform beautifully!
It's an evolution of the code he wrote for us when we used Promasters and Timmies on Tigers a few years back, and is currently being used in the new Vanguard Creed.

His site is still under construction as his work has been all word of mouth to present, but he has some big plans for 2009!

I thought that Euro guns werent supposed to have extra modes (anything other than semi)? Excuse my ignorance in this, but I though some countries it was illegal even if it is just a paintball gun. That is why a lot of manufacturers of boards had "euro boards" (like in the Angels). I could be wrong though. Hopefully I get to PCS to England and will get to play there, hoping for England; then Germany... who knows where the military will send you next (except the desert I know I am going there again).

Scooby

You're not allowed to use fully auto, but ramp is permitted (admittedly a grey area) and the european millennium series has ramping as its standard fire mode which is used at all events (UK, France, Germany and Spain). Angel produces a different software version which only includes semi (2.9 for the angel 1/fly) but the software is home updatable via usb and is published online.
