I know, I know, another spimmy. I've been into paintball for a couple months now, and decided that I wanted to make a spimmy, because I love tinkering and taking stuff apart, and it seems to me to be a fun project. I'm just starting to build it. I will post a few first pics and a mock up, and I am trying to get the drilling and sanding done this weekend, and will post any updates. Let me know if you like it or not! (sorry about the blurriness!)

Why not just keep the 2k2 the way it is?

I like how it's turning out, but I definitely think you should look into modding the body a little more. half of what makes a Spimmy interesting is the owners choices in milling the gun. Good work, hope to see what you choose to do with it.

Toolittletoolate,
I was actually considering just keeping a 2k2 timmy style, but because I like tinkering so much, i decided that this would be a fun project, especially with all the drilling and milling on the body to do.

Ok guys, here are some more photos of the body. I got the major drilling out of the body done, now all I have to do is file it all down and make it look pretty, let me know what you think!

ok, you might laugh at the last one, but i drilled a small hole accidentally into the body, and i had to jb weld it closed, so i got intuitive and used a condom so the jb weld would stay out of the inside of the body. it works perfectly lol :)

Chop some more of the back top off, make it look sexy. I've seen people cut flames, fins, etc.. They all look nice.

Here's a good example of a well executed Spimmy:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/bigred76/Spimmy/100_1281.jpg
You can cut an ASSLOAD out of them. Especially look at the bottom, so you can 2k5 it later on (headspace for the solenoid). All Timmy's are cut the same at the bottom. Example of an Alias cut-out in case you don't have a Timmy body around:
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y109/bigred76/New%20Camera%20Pix/Picture001.jpg
This is measured from the center of the ram sleeve retaining screw.
Most of all, just make it yours from the milling to the parts to the anodizing (best to get it ano'd, otherwise it just looks like a hack job like TLTL's FrankenTimmy).
Also, good job on the condom! I use them myself when I puncture a body. :nododgy: Druid from SOC first taught me that little trick. You can also use those long, skinny balloons.

Hey guys, Heres some more updated pics. I drilled out more of the body, and started filing everything down, i however am on hold for the filing and grinding because my dremel bits are broken :( I am planning on getting more tomorrow, and will keep working on it. I plan on bringing the top part in back to a point as well, once i get my dremel bits.

Ok guys, Heres the final look as of right now. I am going to anno it, but that is going to have to wait until i have the funding, but as for the cutting and modding of the body, I am done. Let me know what you think! Thanks to all for looking, and putting in your opinions, its all GREATLY appreciated.

Round the very back of the spikes. Trust me, you dive and land on those babies ONCE, and you won't ever pick this gun up again.

Thats a good idea BigRed, I didn't even think of that, thanks!

The windows in the bottom sleeve are crazy uneven, as are the top tubes, hopefully you can salvage it.

Ahh my old 2k2. Its neat that your using her to make a spimmy. I got that red 2k2 for $50 locally and she shot nicely. I actually shot her over at Necrolyte's field when my Vice was acting up. I subsequently traded the 2k2 on MCB and got kind of killed on a trade deal (the gun I received was really not in great shape once I got it all put together would not shoot). However, in the end I traded that crappy gun and I ended up getting a new Events mask.
Any who, your project looks great. keep up the good work.

Thanks for the input guys, glad you like it. Supervillain, I don't really see what your talking about, all said and done it is pretty even, i made sure of that before i was done. I do appreciate the feedback though

Eh, I may have come accross pompous, wasnt intended. The cuts arnt even from the front and back of the window, the rounded off edges are just not rounded perfectly is what I meant. Im sure it was difficult to do with just a dremel though.

Its ok, I can see where your coming from. I'm hoping to use it this weekend at a big game in RI, and then i might work on it some more, just getting it really honed down and perfect.

Looks really good! I love the somewhat color matching!
If and when you get it anno'd, do the same color scheme as the original body, but do the fade to match where the front block meets up.
Mine is still in the shop. My boss forgot to take it home to re drill for eyes

Thanks Shifter! I am planning on doing an anno job, just in the future. I checked out your spimmy, Looking Good! hope the eyes turn out well.
