View Full Version : Used Parts Pricing
Critical

I've got a question about the price of parts. Why is it that 2k5 clamshells are so expensive, demand? I can go onto criticalpaintball.com and buy a new 2k5 BL frame for $140 or a new Critical FRM II clamshell for $150, why are the used one's still selling for $100-125+?

I think it has to do with the fact that 2k5 frames are still a very popular part/upgrade especially for the slew of older Timmys that are still around, and people are still buying them. I do agree that $125 is probably a bit high for a used 2k5 frame, but $90-$100 seems more attractive to those with low fundage vs a $140 frame. I priced the last 2k5 frame I had at $100 - I sold it for less. A lot of it has to do with 99.9% of BST buyers lowballing or offering less than the posted price. If you start off with $85 someone will offer you $50. LOL.

Yea.. im that guy. LOL
High demand and limited supply of used ones. It's a popular part because a 2k5'd 2k2 will sell for about 150 more than if it was left as 2k2.

Crank hit the nail on the head. This is a highly popular upgrade. It immediately lowers the profile of the older markers, it's a part that retrofits the thousands of 2K2 generation markers out there (as well as classics!) and ergonomically speaking is a preferred style. My Texas Storm marker is the last one to get a 2K5 gripframe and it's getting done this week. Couple the design of the gripframe with the fact that the 2K5 gripframe allows you to simplify the wiring and you have a lot of happy campers.

One word of caution that I discovered yesterday with the Assassins frame. If you put it on, be careful in the front. I left the 2K2 front block on my storm and the barb hits the bottom of the gripframe. I'm either going to have to dremel the guard or tap for an Alias block. It's amazing mow much lower the Storm's profile is though. I REALLY like the way it came out with the TX Storm's milling in the rear. I'll probably get the thing tapped for an Alias block though.

Guy's. Can anyone tell me what I could get for a LNIB Frenzy Empire 1.5 board? I fitted a M6 Tadao in my Empire 2, and I originally thought of fitting the redundant board in my 2k4 Alias re-build project. But I'm so impressed with my Tadao, that I think I may install anouther LED type board instead.
P.S. Board has had only a hopper full of paint through it, just to make sure my Empire 2 worked before I left seller feedback (eBay). Shortly after that I purchased the Tadao and relegated the frenzy board to the spares box.

After putting one on yesterday, I have to say they're nice. Whoever gets it is going to love it.
Time to go watch UFC.
