Got one of these kits winging it's way to me from the USA for the 05' Empire

Couple of questions for those already running them...

1. Is the reduction in kick really that noticable

2. Can you drop LP input pressure by much from the standard 70-80 psi

3. Can you run a lower dwell

4. Does it give better consistency & efficiency

The reduction in kick is significantly noticable. I've found that you're not going to see a huge drop in the LP to run this as you do need some air pressure behind the ram to force it to open the poppet correctly. The dwell you run it at will depend on the marker but a lower dwell is not preferable as you're going to have to run a higher HPR pressure to compensate for what's going to amount to a lower velocity.

Consistency will be unaffected for the most part but you may see a slight increase in efficiency depending on where your settings come in. Most people get it for the reduction in kick.

Thanks Lopez,

I'll give you an update when I have it fitted

Just had a chance to chrono the gun in today. I ran out of air before christmas & my dive bottle needed a re-test. The Lurker ram is just friggin awesome and once dialed in a 280fps it hardly moves more than +/- 2 fps

Should give ball on ball accuracy & maybe more shots to a tank? It seems to use less air - I backed off both the LPR & HPR as it was running at 320fps on previous settings.

I'm a happy bunny :D

My experiance is the Lurker is worth it's weight in gold. I noticed a huge difference in my GZ and when I put one in my alias a slight difference in kick.
Makes sense though Force = Mass times acceleration, less mass less kick. As far as efficiency I am not sure.
I think I am correct to say the lower the operating pressure the less efficient the gun is correct? You can turn down your pressure to almost 40, but then you would need to adjust your dwell. When ever this is done the volume of air is larger because the dwell or time the valve is left open is longer.
I have a few friends with Angels and the lower they run there guns the more air they use. Feel free to trash this post if I am incorrect but I believe thats how it works.

I didn't turn down the LP setting - still running at 70-75psi & dwell still set at 9ms as before. I had to dial back HP reg to get velocity down from initial 320fps to 280fps, which I guess is down to the softer valve spring supplied in the kit. Not sure if gun is actually using less air - time will tell? ;)
