View Full Version : IOG store

I was thinking that maybe there could be an IOG store where you could buy IOG stikers, t-shirts, jersey (Once the design is finished being made), ect and all of the profits would go to helping crankwalk pay for everything that goes into this wonderfull site. I am not sure if crankwalk has determined on a logo or not for IOG, but if not then we need someone to make a logo if most people think that this is a good idea. This is just an idea and please use the poll and vote so that we can see which most people want.

jrmiller- I like it as a start, maybe once crankwalk determines a logo we can put that on some too. We just have to wait and see what crankwalk says. I am going to post that design in the first post unless we get something better.

I like that design, it reminds me of a football jersey.. the letters look like the shape of the jersey numbers :D
What does everyone else think?

I like it. Not too funky, just straight forward.

Not bad but the letters are a too big, and the orange a bit in your face.
Wish I was a wizz with photo shop. I really like the style of lettering on the oxbow tee & the other ones a bit busy, but you could use the Bob Long skull. Also it would be nice to have a Timmy somewhere in the design, even if it's only an outline or shadow?

I'm not sure how complicated you could make it, but it would be sweet to have the Bob Long skull or dueling Timmys sorta faded into the background, with a cool font in front. Like the layering on the first shirt Gee Tee posted, but maybe that's too fancy.
The original one is really big and bold but with some smaller letters and a logo it would look good. It's times like this I wish I knew how to use photoshop :(

crankwalk- ya, it has that affect on me too, lol.
big willie- I am sure that we would make shirts in different colors.
KeenDean- Ya, I like it a lot to how it isn't all done up or trying to have elaborate designs but just right to the point.
BloodLustAC- I agree with you about having dual Timmy's in the background or somewhere on the shirt. Maybe we could have that on the back of it or something.
jrmiller- can't wait to see the other designs you have.
Gee Tee- I actually really like that design.

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. Trouble is I'm not sure I can remember how I got there - sorta made it up on the fly. Used a photo of my Empire, plus shadow & edge glow effects. Pasted it onto a splat background & threw on some stencil font text. But I'm sure it could be re-created by a pro easily enough, and I'd be chuffed if it went into production

Gee Tee: Nice work mate, well done.
To be honest I'd wear either design. I like Gee Tee's design purely because it has a timmy on the front. I also love jrmillers design because of it's simplicity.
I'd like to know how far is anyone from coming up with some players jerseys? I have a real artistic streak and great ideas floating around in my head. Thing is I don't have the software to convert my ideas into workable designs.
I think we covered the possibility of IOG merchandise, before or just after the IOG forum changed hands to crankwalk. We had ideas of stickers, goggle straps, wrist bands, t-shirts, etc... The emergence of a request and poll for an IOG store has re-addressed this requirement, YAY.
I think it's fair to say that we'd all love to parade our glorious forums name at venues/events, either by wearing t-shirts/players jerseys. Whilst at the same time we would be adding funds to our forum, so that our owner can help keep it running faultlessly.
I am a member of several forums, and I have to admit that the users on this forum are by far the closest knit group of users around. There's no flaming or insultive posts against other users. And I for one would relish representing this great forum. I hope other users are on the same wavelength.

Definitely, I mean I'm not too active on here but I really love the forums. There's never any fighting (at least from what I see) because everyone treats each other with respect, and the site is run well. I'd totally be into representing IOG, either with the shirt or some stickers (did anyone ever have any stickers made?)
One idea I literally just though of as I was writing this is some kind of LCD screen cover that says IOG or has a logo on it, meant to light up the words/image on it when using an LED board. I don't think it's anything more than a piece of paper, but it would be cool to have. I saw this on angelowners, but obviously Angel LCD screens are much bigger so I dunno if it would work well. I'll find an example.
EDIT: okay, back already. http://angelowners.com/showthread.php?t=50363 hopefully you guys can view that without registering, but that's the idea.

An IOG store is an awesome idea and i would definitely sport either one of those t-shirt designs (jrmiller & GeeTee)....or rock an IOG sticker on my car, hopper, girlfriend, or anything it would stick to

Gee Tee- it is one of those things that you do once and you couldn't do it again if you tried things, lol. I have had many of them, but like you said I am sure someone with a lot of experience could do it again.
KeenDean- lol about the part with the poll bringing this idea back. I figured a poll would be the easiest way to see who is for it and who is against it. And also about this being the closest knit, I agree, I am a member of 4 different paintball sites and this is the only one a donate to, I mean the other ones are all bad, but like you said no one is flaming anyone and everyone just gets along.
BloodLustAC- That is a pretty cool idea, but not so sure it would be a very big seller on here, but it doesn't sound too hard to make at home though.
Megatron- lol at the part about sticking a sticker on your girlfriend. I don't think my girl would be to happy about it, but I would get her a shirt and just take the sleeves off of it.

Ok.... own up who voted 'No' on the poll? :D
A mate in my bike club got a few shirts made last season by a local firm. Quality was good & only cost us £15 each for a 2 colour design. Wonder if it's worth getting a few IOG shirts run up to try out ideas?

I think both of the designs look nice. I am inclined to prefer that if an outline shadow of a Timmy is used, it would be the Gen5's since they are the newest -- maybe a Vice .. but that's just me :)
I will definitely start researching how to add a store to the site. I meant to do this prior but after I got the site back online I've got caught up with a bunch of stuff at work.
One friendly word of advice though... we probably shouldn't look into using any copyrighted images from Bob Long i.e. the Skull, or any other proprietary logo type stuff. I think outlines of markers are fine though

Gee Tee- Lol, I was wondering the same thing. I actually wish they would own up and tell us why he doesn't like the idea of having a IOG store.
crankwalk- Ya, I was hoping that someone could find a way to get a picture of the duel Vice's or Protege(SP). Ya, I would definately try and find that out as soon as you can about starting the store.

Yeah it makes more sense to use the Gen5's, but to me Gen3 always looks the most like the Timmys everyone knows and loves, and the outline is probably more distinctive. But whatever, regardless of what type of gun is used it's a sweet design.

Had another go with a Vice
Took ages and I still prefer my original using the Empire profile. The Vice is a dificult outline to work with & not as instantly recognisable. The clamshell grip shape, LP reg and longer body stand out more on older timmy's

But whatever, regardless of what type of gun is used it's a sweet design.I could agree with that logic as well. maybe the "classic" alias shape would be more recognizable/agreeable? If we go with this kind of design I'll let the forum decide what type of marker outline is preferred.

Exactly. As awesome as Gen5 will surely be, they aren't as well known as the older guns. Maybe in time they will be, but I still think Gen3 is what comes to mind when anyone thinks "Timmy."
They both look sweet though, but I think an outline of the gun would look better.

I saw Gee Tee's original design, and deided to doodle a little. Someone mentioned two timmy's crossed at the barrel, so thats what I tried.

kinda hard to say.....i use a gen 3, so i am sort of partial to that platform, but in the same breath i think the gen 5's should be used because they're newest and the hottest timmys and they should be promoted(& i want one soooo bad)

I think IMO that there should be a whole bunch of stensils made up with different timmies like heres my example...
In my gearbag I have
Dragon 2.5
Species 2.5
06 Empire
and soon to be a Vice
Now if you want to wait a little longer you can Custom Order a stensil to be made up and use whatever timmy bodies you want...
Id get a couple tees
one with my dragon and Species
one with my Empire and Vice
then we can do it with years made so
Classics
Gen 2's
Gen 3's
Gen 4's
Gen 5's
if you want to wait anything is possible

Same here, as sweet as Gen5 is I think Gen3 is more "Timmy" than anything else.
About getting all different designs, it's a cool idea but that would mean buying single shirts to be made, which is a lot costlier than getting a single design made up for everyone. I think if we just go with something well-known like the Alias it would be best, since I think that's the most common Gen3 out there.

Or make multiple kinds of shirts?
Maybe on the back year of production of the timmy on the front and some specks about the gun
But that is kind of complicated.

I've a contact for a local shop here in the UK that does short runs and 1 offs. They arn't pukka screen prints but a 2 colour print only costs about £15, and it would be a good way of proving a design before committing to larger numbers

Very cool idea, but once you get rid of the gun it becomes obsolete of course =P
I think in order to please everyone you could get a few different shirts done, with either different generations or different styles from the same Gen. But it's hard to tell the difference between millings in the same Gen, so if you did a shirt for each popular generation then people could buy whatever they shoot/like most. Just yet another thought.
