how much would blast charge me to helicoil the rear frame screw hole on a species? the threads of mine were really worn and blew out last night when i was reassembling my gun. does anyone know the exact size of the helicoil that would be used? or would it be a better idea to tap the hole a size bigger? thanks!

To Heli-coil it you have to drill it and tap for a larger size, so why do you say "don't go bigger"?

Best way to get pricing from Blast is to call them directly, I called last week and talked to Matt, he seemed pretty helpful.

Just FYI, thier general e-mail doesn't get checked often, so it's best to call them directly first.

i figure if it doesnt work, i havent really hurt anything cause i can still drill it out and helicoil it if it fails

I just looked at that link. Its a cool idea but for a frame screw, heli-coil it. Form a thread just isnt going to have the strength & longevity of a stainless steel coil if you ask me.
