Is that a US brand name? Bear in mind I'm UK based folks!

I believe so, but any household dye should suffice.

(with a name like "Hippy", one would think you have "tie-dyed" a thing or two in your day)
yup....Rit is the brand name, commonly found in the laundry detergent section of most US grocery stores...I've never done a bolt before, but many shirts... i would imagine you would use a bowl, add water, add dye, stir, add bolt, and wait a few hours....

The water needs to boil at some point from what I've read when you dye delrin.

yep. get an old pot/metal bowl, pour in the water and the dye, drop the bolt in, and bring it to a boil.

1. go to google.com
2. in search bar type "the guide to dying" (dont include the quotations) then type "site:pbnation.com"
3. click the first link.....

this is my main way of searching forums.

I have never dyed a bolt but i have dyed many lacrosse heads. You bring water to a boil and add dye the more you add the darker it will be. however the problem with black dye on plastics and other nylon based items is that as it gets used it ends up fading out to a dark purple. If it id delron i am not sure how that will act toward the dye. But make sure that you are ok with the fading. It also helps to let it cool then stick it in your freezer for like 30 min to an hour . Good luck let us know how it goes
