As you guys know there are a ton of bolts out there and I was wondering if anyone or anyone you know has bought or had a pillow bolt placed into there alias ( Gen 3 's)and seen a big difference. For a while now I have toyed with getting this thing ( I have seen the generation 4 pillow bolts for Ripper 3's and such ) but never any reviews. I am just wondering if tis is worth the 40 bucks or a waste of time..... these are on ebay and they guy says It will fit any alias.....

never used one, but am willing to bet that it is heavier than the stock bolt, due to the extra material on the inside. More mass=more kick usually. Also if they are heavier you might have to adjust your regs higher, which in turn might make you gun less efficient. Personally I'd say stick with the stock, since there is nothing wrong with it. A better spend of the money would be on an eigen ram. From what I've seen they are worth every penney.

Yes sir I agree, the weight is different!!
it is a slight bit heaver or the one I observed for the Pillow bolt for the ripper 3 ... (compared to the stock bolt).
Performance wise with crap paint does it work? or is this a 40 dollar tu*d sliding back and forth in my gun?
Two people I know suggested them, but I wanted the forums opinion before I dished out the cash only to throw it back on e-bay a week later for half the price :P heheeh holla !! ( sorry for the Po* reference)

Bob Long makes a pillow bolt for the Alias. It might not be on his site but all you have to do is call up there and ask for it. If you using cheap paint then i suggest getting one of these, other than that i would stick to stock or maybe pick up a slotted bolt, ie. Function or VP Teflon i own both of those and they are both great products. Pillow bolts are more for what people deam a "kiss" is put on the ball. Like stated before unless you are constantly shooting bad/cheap/brittle paint then this product is a waste of money if your buying it from ebay.

Well yes and no..... I always try to buy good paint when it is available. But as we all know some times " available" is the key word. Last few fields I have gone to have had some crap paint. I am lucky enough to have " Skittles "(seconds but different bore tournament paint mixed bags) as our fields practice paint. Here is an example of what we get... and believe me it is loads better then a bag of old Dimpled spank !!!!

http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/1694/dsc06285wg0.jpg

out of these bags I have very, very very, few breaks.... even at a capped 15 a second.

But like three weeks ago I went to a scenario game and the paint was the worst crap I have ever shot out of my gun..... Besides Wildstreak >.< chopped like every 4 to 5 balls, and If I happened to get on it and shoot 15BPS every ball broke and just sprayed about 3 feet out of my barrel making my gun a 600 dollar blender. But I believe we have all been there and just hope you didn't buy more then a case of that Poo....
Thanks again for the suggestion !!!

Looks to be decent paint. Savannah eh, i'm in GA myself just outside of ATL. Like i stated before i really don't thik you should spend the money on the "pillow" bolt, if you having minor problems then i would simply just re-adjust your dwell and balance the regs again to get the right match. There is so kid around the forums IOG/PBN that i swear to god has owned every single upgrade on the earth for an alias. He would probably tell you different than what i'm telling you but, with the weather here in GA the way it is, simple tweaks with the settings should save you the 40 duckets and keep you happy. Nice to meet/help another GA baller.

Yes, very nice to meet another GA Baller as well.
I play X-ball with a few of the guys on UGA's college team and love the chance to scrimmage by Atlanta. We drive 4 hours play for half a day load up and drive back to Savannah. It's a shame we do not have anything X Ball fields closer, except mabey Jacksonville, but I don't have any contacts there.
Like I said I don't just have 40 bucks burning a hole in my pocket, I am however always keeping my ear to the ground to make my gun the best with out being that noob that shows up on the field with every new high priced upgrade for his toy. I am building a backup marker and still 2k5ing my brothers GZ two items that keep me busy till I have a new project ....!! Thanks again for the feedback
