so i'm building a timmy from the ground up for fun and was looking around for things to buy and noticed that there are soo many things to choose from. i've come to you guys to ask, what would your perfect timmy consist of? right now i have a ripper1 body, empire frame, and an eigen ram with lightened spring.

If you're using an eigenram in the Ripper body, make sure you build it with an Alias ram sleeve and poppet. You'll have a much easier time getting it to settle in and get to velocity.

A lot of it is personal preference, like barrel (Most are the same once you get to a certain point), feedneck (As long as it is clamping it will work), bolt (Most people that I talk to like the stock Timmy bolts), ram cap (Hybrid Adjustable Ram cap is what I had in my 2k2 and it worked perfect), ram (eigen ram is fine), ram sleeve (Alias), frontblock (Empire or Alias frontblock), LPR (Alias), regulator (I personally like the Dye Hyper 2 but some people prefer the stock reg), Asa w/ rail/drop (Some like drops others like rails, and the asa is mostly about looks), trigger frame (Empire frame is perfectly fine), trigger (What one likes others will hate), grips (It is all about comfort and looks, can't really say that one set of grips is the best for everyone), board (All you need is semi, and sometimes ramping). That is almost every part on a Timmy, so go out and see what fits you the best, hope I helped.

yea I'm thinking about waiting for the yakuza to come out. Ripper1s are able to accomadate alias lpr housings? And what's a nice poppit valve to get?

Yarp......, so many tasty upgrades, to pick and choose from, ....... but the ONLY 2 you need to make any Timmy rip is an adjustable ram cap and detents( killa are the bomb) next, yes then ram and work your way from front to back. Barrel, anything but stock( just learn to use it)... Violent product delron pistons are the bomb, ( I like my Dye hyper 2 * props spider* for my HPR . Took me a few cases to break in but it rocks now ) I'm pickey for triggers (Tecna's) im just spoiled :P , Grips I love those dark soul ones thin and swank ! nice all around feel and keep that trigger crisp !!!! ( Stay stock on your bolt ( researching a pillow bolt , but get back to me ) . board, well cant go wrong with a virtue, easy to set for terny's easy to read, easy to use. ...
Hay lets see some Pic's of the guts and frame for this gun. Post some up !!
and if this is a ripper one (gen 1) you have to get your body Tapped to fit an alias or empire front block correct guys?
man its late got to run guys .... hope this helps !

thanks man the info deffinately helped! The ripper1 body and frame won't be here till next week though haha. And I think it might actually be already tapped because in the thread that I bought it from, it was a part out thread and he had the alias lpr housing in there so hopefully its set. I'm hoping to get a techna but I have no idea where:( can you tell me where to get one? Haha. Also I'm probably going to use a cp reg due to sponsership

VP went out of business and any remaining stock that other stores had are probably gone by now, your best bet for one of those is going to be BST or luck :)
I personally prefer the VP pistons over the PBK ones because VP had he aluminum inserts that make contact with the valve pin, whereas the PBK ones are all delrin

The Yakuza's are nice boards. I'm waiting for the 2K5 versions to come out as well as they'll be a nice upgrade for some of my Gen2/3/4 markers.
The Ripper 1's can accomodate the Alias LPR block IF and only IF you get the body tapped. BLAST does this for a reasonable price. Also if your body is unmilled on the underside you'll want to send it to BLAST to be able to accomodate the noid in the 2K5 gripframe. If it's already 2K5'd you're set. As I mentioned before, you want to put in the Alias poppet/ram sleeve. This will better allow you to use an Eigenram, Epek Kit or Kapp Thumper Ram.

Only in BST. VP went out of business (as mentioned above). You may want to try Bump Paintball as they might have some remaining VP inventory. Beyond that, just patience to find the right piston. The PBK's aren't bad as a sub but Crank's right, the VP's are better.

haha ok this could be fun. my dream timmy:
gloss black with white accents dragon body
2k3 empire frame
OG empire grips (the ones that came on the original empires)
eigen ram and all that crap
VP teflon bolt (discontinued)
CP reg
Virtue board
Lucky 15 Barrel kit
Hybrid on/off
Crossfire 45/45 Tank
Did I miss anything?
superbuddha14

basically got it covered  haha. right now i'm determined to find some VP pistons, searched for awhile but no luck unfortunately :(. what are the next best pistons?
lopez17
01-19-2008, 05:59 PM
If you're looking for Delrin ones, the PBK Delrin pistons. I've never had any real reason to swap out my stock ones though.

You mentioned the tank bun not the hopper your gonna use to feed that beast:)

speaking of hoppers, i just picked up the magna. i think it's amazing, the weight really throws you off at first but you have to give a chance before making assumptions. it feels back heavy at first but when you put your tank to you shoulderish area, it feels like there is litterally no hopper there. you know how when you mess around at home with the tank on and everything but not the hopper(i know you all did it at some point haha). it feels exactly like that with the magna on, it's rediculous
edit: just made my very own little review about the magna. if there is interest i can post it up on the appropriate forum in here

hey guys, can i use a stock alias bolt for the ripper1?
crankwalk
01-21-2008, 10:58 AM
unfortunately you won't be able to use an Alias bolt in that Ripper body because the Ripper 1s take a 2k2 style bolt
If you would like to post a review about the Magna you may do so here

oh dang forgot the hopper. lets see i would have to say either an Empire B or an XSV V-locity. Maybe a Pulse but I havent really tried those yet. I would probably go with the v-locity.

thanks guys, i found a 2k2 orange bolt for pretty cheap. i know i was recommended stock but are orange bolts good? thanks. now i'm on the hunt for a techna trigger, no luck but hopefully i'll find some haha. just posted my review about the magna too

Yikes I was told to stay away from the orange bolt people said they break easily. I to was on a quest for the best bolt for my Timmy but after lots of research I decided to stay stock. Crank I believe will agree with you there as well and with all the guns he has shot I value his advice and opinion. Now on to the hopper !!! I want a magna Badly, and have the loot for the darn thing but I need to read more up on it. ( or find someone with one I can barrow for a day or two and try it out). ehehehe well I have seen a few tecna's for sale in the BST, but they run 80 to a buck and depending on what trigger style you like some are even more rare. I like the Katana like I said and was blessed enough to have one on my baby, and one on my brothers gun. I'll keep an ear out for ya....

01-21-2008, 10:39 PM
thanks man i greatly appriciate the help, i'll stay away from them then , but for $10 i might get one as a temporary or so. i had one in my lasoya way back and it seemed pretty nice. and i made a magna review actually, you should check it out

For other markers, Orange bolts are very good (Dye/Proto markers for instance) however for Timmys there have been many reports of the bolts snapping from normal use as Slimpikins976 mentioned.. your best bet would probably be to go with a stock 2k2 bolt or if you can find one, a VP Teflon Bolt
superbuddha14
01-22-2008, 05:43 PM
ok, thanks! will deffinately look for one
superbuddha14
01-23-2008, 11:00 PM
hey, another question haha. Is there a difference between 2k2 and an alias noid?
IRStookmySpyder
01-24-2008, 07:31 AM
superbuddha14- If you had the choice of buying one get a Alias solenoid since it will be newer and probably not as many shots on it which equals more life. Both will probably be around the same price used, but yes they are basically the same thing with different color wires.
superbuddha14
01-24-2008, 10:11 AM

01-28-2008, 10:08 PM
many of the parts i ordered from crankwalk came in, just got word that the ripper body and frame will be here this week so i'll finally i have a picture soon. won't be much, but for the people that wanted one, it'll be up soon

well guys, all the parts i ordered came in, so here are the pics that some of you have been waiting for haha:

http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa37/superbuddha14/NPPL%20Boston/potato012.jpg
as you can see, i still need a great deal of parts like the wiring, a board(waiting for yakuza), ramsleeve, whole LPR system, and ram cap
IRStookmySpyder
02-02-2008, 11:52 PM
superbuddha14- I like the color of it since not to many people that I know have that color body/trigger frame and you can use black with most of the other parts. GL building.
superbuddha14
02-03-2008, 12:24 AM
thanks man. I am actually thinking about annoing because if you actually look close at the body and frame, the have a bunch of scratches and scuffs. Hopefully I get my other needed parts soon. I just worked out a deal with blazed storm for an lpr and cp trigger, I dont like the ndz in the picture, it curves way too forward for my taste haha. Also posted in lopez's thread about an lpr housing and ramsleeve. So all I hopefully need now is the wiring, poppit, board, and some miscillaneous things I'm ordering from crankwalk
superbuddha14
02-04-2008, 09:32 PM
just bought all the wiring i need, got myself a front block, lpr, and ramsleeve. so basically all the basics are finally down. all i need now is a small board i can buy for hopefully cheap while i wait for the Yakuza, a reg, and asa. so 3 more things to go. i'm starting to think about anno, what color do you guys think i should get? was hoping to get some opinions because there are so many i like out there haha. also anything but blue, pink, or yellow, just not my colors :P haha.
edit-also, i was thinking of a little milling. i could mill the back part just a little so that it could be more "spike-ish" here is a picture below to show what i mean, and sorry for the random white space
http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa37/superbuddha14/potato013.jpg
i kind of want it like that because i see it on other rippers and all and think it looks great so i would try it here, but i don't know if the curves would make it look right. what do you guys think?
double edit- i just thought of a color scheme, dust black and gloss green parts. i think that'd look sick! haha
Twisted_mister
02-05-2008, 04:02 PM
omg
Don't do that.
DONT DO THAT! Do not mill that ripper. I will by the body from you if you are headed that way. Mill a ripper 2.5 if you have to mill anything.

some more parts came in, i actualy got to put it together to finally see how it feels. i took the barrel and reg from my droid and put them on the Ripper to see how it feels haha.

i've been in love with the ironmen since they originally came out, found a deal on a broken 05'd 2k2(turns out the eyes were just dirty) thru one of my sponsors. got it for extremely cheap used the spare cash to get an almost flawless ironmen body off pbn. it's kinda cob jobbed right now but it'll be on par soon
