I have yet to see another one on here or the nation that isnt 2k5'd. im just wondering how rare it is to find one of these beauties in their original state. i really want to use the body for a 2k5 project as the 113 board in it only shoots in semi, but im thinking someone might rip my head off if i tap it for an alias front block and part everything else lol. does blast flash 2k2 boards to the latest software like they do for alias'? or would it be better to just get a was board?

They flash them to a certain point I think

Gen2 boards can only be flashed up to 127.4.
If your doing a true 2k5 job, then you'll be replacing the board anyway. So it wouldn't really matter.

If you wanted to keep a true 2k2 marker, and have a board that can be adjusted to low ROF caps (10.5bps), then you could maybe get your hands on a WAS board.
With WAS rev2.9 you get fire modes as well as the ability to set your ROF.
The Frenzy rev113 can be flashed by BLAST to Frenzy 127.4. With 127.4 you get fire modes, but it can only be capped to 15bps. Not good, if you're playing a tournament that has a ROF cap lower than 15.
You're right in saying that finding people happy to keep true 2k2 markers and not having them 2k5'd is rare. I have two Ironmen timmy's which will be kept as 2k2's as I personally love the feel of a 2k2 over a Gen3 or 4 marker.

I agree it is a very good looking marker AS IS. 2005'd 2002s are becoming the norm & are just blah. I would hunt down a WAS board & keep it all stock.

yep, got it for a steal. almost cost me more money in gas to go pick it up than it did for the gun, and i only drove 45 min out of the way :D

i think i might end up keeping it original, provided my alias is resurrected after this week. it looks so huge and heavy, but its really comfortable to hold and is actually fairly light for its size. i was really surprised as this is the first 2k2 ive owned. i polished up all the chrome parts and it looks almost new now.

Yeah i just got one of these on trademygun.com for 100 bucks..im rather stoked, i will get it in a few days and may decide to keep it stock except for adding a snatch grip that i have laying around, upgrading to stiff detents and maybe the feedneck if i do not like it, but i have a few feednecks lying around one of which is cocker threads and the other timmy threads so i should be ok and not have to buy one..
