Hey guys wondering if anyone has tried to remove the pressed in part of feedneck on the cocker style body? I was just thinking and pondering if you could remove the feed neck would it be possible to thread it to accecpt an alias style feedneck, anyone every do this?
If you've got access to a lathe then you could do it. I've seen people pull the press type necks with a gear puller, the one specific guy I'm thinking of stuck an aluminum bolt in to avoid marring the breech.

Hmm, the gear puller shounds like it could work, I didn't think of that
god do you know who the fellow was that did it? Mabye I could track him down and get some pictures
Didn't do it to a timmy but the concept still applies.

I don't think he does anything paintball any more and I haven't talked to him in a couple years so tracking him down might take a good deal of time and effort.

Ahh that's perfect, good thing I have one of those pullers at work, I'll have to give it a try and document my findings and doings, thanks for the help there god
Any time.
One word of caution, I don't know how gentle the gear puller is on the feedneck, you might mar the underside of it a bit depending on how much force is actually needed to remove it. I'd throw the body in the freezer overnight before attempting it though.

if your not worried about reusing the stock threaded stump, a pair of vice grips, and mallet, and a bench vice have always worked for me.
as far as the replacement feedneck goes, i know gamer modded an ion neck to fit in a gz body, and i have done the same with an ion threaded bob long clamping neck. it's a nice tight fix. i plan on adding a little black maxx or jb weld after ano is done on it just to make sure it stays put.

I thought the ion necks were threaded? How did you seat the ion neck in there? Send me a picture or two so I can see how it sits? Thanks rabbit

i used the ion neck because the outside diameter of the neck was damned near a perfect match for the body. yeah, it's threaded, but that makes no difference. i just tapped it in with a rubber mallet and used a level to make sure it was level.
i pulled the neck out in prep for ano, and to cut it down just a little or i would post pics.

The threads are irrelevant, you just press it in the same way you would any other press-fit feedneck.

perfect, thanks guys, ill have to give it a whirl and document my progress when i go to do it, i have a puller, i just need to locate a bolt to stick in there and an ion feedneck
thanks for the help guys
Classic timmys came with aluminum bolts, you can also use a more commonly available Spyder bolt.
