Hey everyone, I was ordering screws from Crank, and he's saying that the ram sleeve screw for the aim is different??? is this true?

I have seen some sleeves where the set screw area is just a milled flat spot rather than a dished in spot like stock.

Best bet would be to find a member on here who has an AIM body and ask them. Though if Crank is telling you they are different then I'm sure they are different. You could also give eBay a stroll and ask a seller on there to check for the correct size.
Also, if you have the AIM body take it down to a local ACE hardware and ask them to check the threads. Or just go try set screws that look close until you find the right one(don't force them in, the correct size should screw in by hand with minimal effort).

I always forget you're not in the US. That's going to make it very hard to find a Standard thread set screw. Did Crank say what size the screw is, or just that its not the same? I'd ask him if he knows what size it is.

it's Eisenwarengeschäft and they probably have what you are looking for.

I have two AIM bodies. I'll check the set screw tonight when I get home. As I recall, the screw is smaller in diameter than what is used with other Gen 3 bodies.
my aim body does have a flat spot milled and uses a shorter screw than normal 2k2 bodys.

hhmm thnx for the info guys. TJS, if you could, that'd be great. Ajak, if you know what size it is, that'd be great too.

Lol actually, I did, but in the wrong thread. Someone else has a thread about AIM bodies and I posted the info over there. DOH! Here is what I posted:
The screw appears to be an odd size. The 2k2 ram sleeve set screw is 1/4-20 (1/4" diameter 20 threads per inch). The AIM bodies I have appear to have a 5/16-20 set screw. I have a thread sizer, and it's definitely 20 threads per inch, but I don't have a caliper to measure the diameter. Holding it up to a clear ruler, it appears to be 5/16.
If the hardware store doesn't have that size, your best bet may just be to tap the hole for an Alias set screw which is larger and an easy to find screw size.

5/16-20? that is odd. Alias is 5/16-24 for the frontblock, and a 3/8-24 for the ramsleeve. So it looks like its a smaller screw(like a 2k2), so it makes sense since the AIM bodies are setup like a 2k2. If you can find a local Ace type hardware store around you it should be easy to find. But since you are where you are, it might prove to be difficult.
