I have an 06 Empire 2 with an AKALMP Sidewinder reg - does it matter if I use a LP or HP tank with it? Just PM or post
thanks

either will work for you, the hp tank will improve recharge rates

basic rule of thumb, if it's not an angel HP will always work...if the operating pressure is around 300psi or below LP will work just fine (without dropoff, the OP can be higher but high rof's may have dropoff depending on regualtor flow/recharge rates in the system).
I generally perfer HP as I do not own an angel...if you have the opertunity to talk to an airsmith that isn't just trying to sell you something they may mention that LP tanks are all just marketing and have no gains over HP (inline regulator wear is basically the same in indentical guns if one is running HP and the other is running LP).

Wow... did not know that, I was always told that a LP tank is better for higher end guns because the air or gas coming from the reg is at a closer pressure from the tank to the first reg( HPR). This was supposedly better for the marker because your HPR does not have to work as hard, which I believed translated into less ware on the internals of the gun. Thanks for the heads up guys !!!!

I thought that too for a while...then I got a tap from the clue-by-four by dennis from centerflag (a while before his site went AWOL and his voicemail box got full...and stayed full for weeks). I believe him, he's a smart man after all he made a great product line and had some really nice innovations.
However the present rumor is that Dennis and centerflag is "gone" I hope that rumor is false, if not then score one against the little guy with great products.:(

I was told that the ideal input pressure for the stock torpedo reg was around 500 psi. that being said, anything from 450 to 800 will work just fine. so honestly, i dont think it really matters all that much. i use an LP just because thats what i got. i kinda like it just for the simple fact that its easier to screw in my on/off than with HP tanks. sounds lame but there ya go. i've never noticed any performance change from back when i had my HP tank so if its the same price, just go with whatever you feel like.
