Will I:
1. Get tapped out by the gym owner in the 1st round.
2. Get knocked out by the gym owner in the 1st round.
3. Trip and fall getting into the octagon, Ko'ing myself.
4. Get embarrassed by a kid way below my weight class.
5. Do just fine.
Whoever picks the correct outcome gets a gift sent to them in the mail. I will not guarantee that it's in before Christmas.

You're going to get embarrassed like a fat man eating a fake cake.
And since you already owe me a gift does that mean I get 2? ;)

Mean Bill is Mean.
We'll see, Bill. I'm pretty sure i'm going to either get paired with someone around my weight class, or a little heavier. There's not a whole lot of little guys in the mma program here.

Gonna get submitted. That's usually how you bring new people in with a loss. Who has a good first time getting knocked out? That's how we always did it.

I'm not exactly 'new' to the fight game. This would just be my first time sitting in on one of this particular instructor's classes. However, he's the type of guy that is completely unpredictable.
Then again, on my first judo lesson, the instructor threw me without teaching me how to fall properly, resulting in a broken rib. He later told me in broken english that I "Needed to be broke."

The simplest way to beat anyone in a fight is to ALWAYS look at their upper torso and follow that. If you do, you can and will se ANYTHING and everything they throw your way which, if you're quick enough with your hands like me, you can use it against them 80 - 90% of the time. Kind of jiujitsu-ish to a certain degree. Just follow your opponent's movement for a minute or so to gauge his tendencies and layout a plan for attack and wait until he repeats a weak move and pounce on him.

for your sake I voted trip and KO yourself before hitting the ring. Who wants to get in the ring with people who are trained to fight? That's like... picking a fight with someone who knows how to fight!! WTF
Of the fights that I've been in (normally in a bar) I always look for the one who seems to be uncoordinated and hopefully smaller than me. Who wants to get their *** kicked, seriously?

The ground is where I like to party. I can't strike like I used to, but I can still submit someone fast.

That would be me. Wrestling, Judo, backyard brawls, etc. I need a backup hobby for whenever I eventually burn out of paintball. I may as well pursue something that requires the same if not higher attention towards skill, progress and physical conditioning but still gives me a huge adrenaline rush.
...and I enjoy scrapping.

Update: I had an old friend drop in to surprise me yesterday, and he ended up staying late so we could catch up on old times. So, seeing how I was preoccupied with stories about the 'old days' and my mom's fried chicken, I missed class. Fear not, I will be in class next wednesday to either take my beatdown or deliver one.

Bull****. I do not chicken out from anything..except swimming, because I can't. I just think that a friend I haven't seen in over two years surprising me with a visit is a bit more important than going to a free class that I can go to this coming wednesday.

It's kind of sad that I knew EXACTLY what you were talking about, since I've never actually owned World of Warcraft. My brother bought it for me (the original one, I know they're on like number 5 or something now) and I never did get around to installing it, so I gave it back to him and he played it. Youtube video was pretty funny though.

I say screw the fighting and hit the pool. My 6-year old can tech you a thing or 2. LOL

I grew up in a lakeside resort town that makes 80% of it's revenue in the summer months because of the lake. Laugh at my shame.

Same here. I've never played WOW a day in my life, but I have a lot of nerd friends that do. (sorry wow nerds on here) That video is hilarious. That used to be some of my friend's battle-cry's when they played paintball, and you can't keep a straight face when shooting at them when they're yelling that back and forth.

excessiveego, Redakuma, shad0w, Shawn_Savage, TheePsycho, and wicker77, please report to my PM box with mailing addresses.
I did indeed get tapped...a lot. 6 Submissions throughout the first night. However, it wasn't real bouts, just one 3 minute bout, and then we trade off to another partner.
I landed 3 submissions, and farted on a ranked fighter to escape a nasty armbar. Needless to say, I am definitely going back.
I'm sad to say it, but I cannot seem to keep side control to save my life anymore. Hopefully, this will change soon.

So you got your *** handed to you in the first round?
dirtysouth_jihad

So you got your *** handed to you in the first round?
Technically, yes, for 6/9 straight rounds. Instead of you getting multiple rounds with the same opponent, in this training format you're passed off to another opponent after a three minute round with a 30 second rest. It's pretty intense. By my 5th round, I was dripping sweat. I was still throwing people around through all nine rounds, I just couldn't land many submissions.
Think of it this way: You're taking a rally truck and putting it in a street race. It has plenty of power compared to the other vehicles, the driver just isn't as adjusted to the racing format as the other drivers. The Rally truck may blast right past the other cars in the straight away and muscle them off the road, but he can't navigate the roads quite as well as the other vehicles.

I'm saying i've got the strength and drive to do this, I just need some technical work to catch up to the other fighters. Physically, I was able to out last the other fighters, my technique is just crap in comparison to theirs.

We could go back and forth and like this for weeks, but it's all in good humor.
Suffice it to say, " I ain't even mad."
