hi guys, doing more and trying to read as much as possible about these guns, I see a few pictures on modified intimidatior's, some of these guns have what appears to be an extra inch or two if aluminum sticking out of there LPR or front block . I think the idea behind this is it allows you to run your Marker at an lower operating pressure and the " volumizer" allows the LPR to work less hard, allowing for more consistant shots? anyone who knows, or has a better idea on this concept please feel free to correct any of this. By all means expand on this because I might want to mod my gun with one it it will make this amazing gun work better !!!!

Thats pretty much correct...And a lot of it depends on the marker you have. The Alias style front blocks are cut out a lil more to allow more air to be held for the next shot. So on those they say you really shouldnt need it, but I run one just to try and get that extra lil umph...lol.....any other comments on this one...?
First off, th volumizer is not a mod(ification) it's just an upgrade or add on. They are easy to use/add and commonly available.
It's the basic concept that a greater volume of already regulated air can help you to reduce your operating pressure, some times you need to increase your dwell though.
Third, it's not for your LPR, it adds extra volume after your HPR (vertical reg/torpedo.)
It will make a noticable difference when your main reg has a slow recharge rate, but if your recharge rate is amazingly good, you won't notice much of a change if at all.

ok, so How should I go about finding out if this add on is right for my gun? this upgrade runs about 20 bucks and looks to be just 3 more o-rings to lube and care for, just curious, and agin thanks for the speed replies guys !!!

Frankly, there's better upgrades for your marker than a Volumizer. I've never really seen the need for them and found they don't really add that much (if anything!) in terms of performance.

I think I figured this out on my son's piranha when he wanted it low pressure. If you are considering the supply of air through the HPR, then the HPR has to pass enough air to keep a string of shots going, you know, the 12 to 43 bps string.
After going unused for about six months, the piranha was giving us some trouble. What I noticed when the detonator reg got sticky was at first there wasn't enough air to recock at all. After some lube and shooting it out, it would recock, but with sustained strings above about 14 bps, it would drop out. When I took the reg down, it was very sticky with the original lube. When cleaned up, we could max the piranha out again.
I think the only reason it could recock on a single shot and later run at a slower pace is because the expansion chamber we had put on the marker. It couldn't help once we out ran the regulator again. Since the regulator needs to keep up in rapid fire, the only use I can see for a 'expansion' chamber or volumizer is to provide enough air in the first shot to give your HPR time to open up and start flowing in case it has some initial sticking. But in the end, the HPR has to keep up.
I think you really want a reg that is fast enough to make that first shot work and sustain your "massive" rof. Whatever that may be. :D

for somereason the volumizer has made a large difference in my gun, but if you are going to do anything get a lurker ram. best upgrade imo. and a adjustable ram cap.

lurker Ram, got it, im going to do some reading on them right now. oh another quick question, with an upgraded ram, I assume the standard o-rings to fit your stock ram work on the upgrade right? or would you need to add another box of O-rings to add to my Timmy tool bag? lol it has like 12 o-rings already... again I am fresh to teching these guns, but my mind is fresh and like a steel trap !!! information is power....
