My board settigns at the time:
Dwel - 8.0
BIP - 02.0
DEB - 10.0
MBNCE - 03
Ok heres the problem when I was playing earlier today and I noticed I was chopping alot of paint, after I clean my barrel it shot fine again. Some games I didnt chop much paint, others I was shooting soup. I'm just wondering what I can do in order to minimize the chopping. I was thinking maybe the dwell.... Also can you guys tell me what are good settings I should have my gun on for an all around consistency.
Oh and I forgot to mention what paint I was using: PMI Premiums.
Thanks

it could be a number of things....the shell on the pmi premium's shouldnt be too brittle but it is possible that you got a bad case that was misshandled, so check the rest of the paint if there is any left....then it is possible that the bore size of your ul is too small for the pmi's.....it could be the weather....it could be the velocity is set too high on your timmy....then there are your settings, which i cant help you with because i am a bumbling idiot, but there are many tech savvy members on this site that will be able to help, so good luck:cheers: sweet looking infamous by the way!!!!!

i did check the bore size because i only have one barrel, and some balls where 2 big and barely fit through the barrel, also on pb nation i was told to turn up my BIP up a lil higher, and set my bolt delay to 15 but i dnt think i have bolt dely for a setting , o and i forgot to add my lpr was around 50-65.

May be worth cleaning the eyes, checking the condition of ball detents & making sure the bolt position is set correctly. Other than that ball to barrel match or poor quality paint would be my main suspects.
I was breaking a lot of pain (barrel bursts) on my PM7 last game, and that turned out to be too tight a barrel. Standard proto bore is .688" - I swapped to a Dye UL with a .692" back & it didn't burst another ball all day :)

ok here are some more things always check and match paint to Bore. ( or is it cold? My alias is sweet but under 50 degrees I run the risk of chopping to heck and back)Condition of the paint also matters... you use cheap paint, you run that risk. For good cheap paint you can buy ANYWHERE Wal-mart has Impact. Good hard shell as well myTimmys never had an issue with a bag of impact ever.
Next was there any pinched wires( I.E. eyes, or the wiring harness)?
Next check your Ball stack. Is your ram and bolt adjusted correctly to allow the best possible stack of paint? ( look in some of my earlier posts i have a write up if this is your issue)
Detents... If your using a force feeding hopper make sure these are not worn down. or you will be making a mess all day...
start to go threw these, but just because some one said the eyes are good does not mean they are.... ( get a barrel squeegie stick it down the feed tube and pop off a few shots. if the eyes are turned on and clean you should be able to rip and not just shoot once and have the gun delay and fire a single shot a second later) I use Rubbing Alcohol on a q-tip for a quick wash down of my eyes before EVERY day of play.
Try these and we can go from there....

Sounds like cold weather and/or brittle paint might be causing barrel breaks, not traditional chops.. I've had this problem before and all I could do was switch to cold weather paint (Polar Ice) and overbore the barrel to try and combat the problem. If you find that most of the paint breakage is in the barrel and the problem (temporarily) goes away by cleaning the barrel it is almost certainly barrel breaks and not chops.

i dont think it was the cold weather, considering i was playin on an indoor feild. I took my gun out yesterday and put 2 full pods through without chopping one ball, so i think i might have fixed the problem..... but ill let you guys know they next time i go play
