Hello,

My local shop owner called me today with a small repair job. Broken barb on the front block and add a magnet for the trigger. No problem.

Took off the front block and found an alias style poppit. And of course, it leaks. Am I missing something here? I didn't think you could use an alias poppit on a 2k2 style marker. Not sure why a 2k2 cupseal won't fit, I tried.

Question: Did they do anything different with the Dragon series that would need that alias poppit?

If its a 2k5 Dragon from the factory aka Dragon 2.5, it would have the Alias style ram sleeve and Alias poppet pre-installed.

If it was a standard 2k2 Dragon, perhaps the owner of the marker swapped in an Alias style ram sleeve in order to use the Alias poppet. This would explain the 2k2 cupseal not fitting, since the Alias sleeve has more of a rounded or cupped face, rather than the 2k2 flat faced sleeve which fits the 2k2 cupseal.

If the Alias poppet is leaking, it could be one of two things.

1. poppet o-ring needs replacing
2. white poppet head needs replacing (it will unscrew from the stem)

Usually the poppet heads on Alias markers are pretty sturdy and don't require replacement as often as the 2k2 style disc cupseal (this is why they're considered an upgrade) so it might just be the ring just needs to be replaced and relubed.

Thanks for your help. It was the poppit that was loose on the shaft and not sealing properly. Ordering hose and barbs from you now.
