but unless we invent a new sport that combines scuba and paintball we aren't going to the field where I'm a ref.....

In no particular order...

This is a shot of the parking area and the dumpster there is on like 15" rims.

Yeah that's supposed to be a woodsball field not an extension of the creek.

About 1/4 of the down from the top and center and looking left, that's the TOP of the "Fort" that I think is at least a 6' fort and might be a 7 or 8' fort

From right behind the woods staging area, remember that huge hill to get down from staging to the field? Where did it go?

One of the starting gates on the speedball field, Good thing we always take the air bunkers inside after every day's play that lighter area at the bottom of the gate is a 3' high tarp, that's only about 1' or less still showing.

Another shot of the lake formerly known as the airball field.

I've had the suggustion somewhere else too LOL!

Yeah it is but unfortuntally our field is on the flood plain for the Big Walnut Creek so this happens every spring, just not this bad. Once the flooding goes down we always let the field "rest" one full week before we play so that we don't scar the field.

Wow that is pretty crazy! Thanks for the pics, how long until you guys can play on that field again?

We usually give it one week after the lake goes away to let the mud harden up some as to not permintally damage/rut the land so as long ad the flooding subsides by Saturday or Sunday which is 100% a possibility then next weekend is possible.

The thing is we are in the flood plain for a creek running right allong the field so if it rains again and the rest of Ohio don't flood we might so who knows.

Just got off the phone with the owner and he said he was there Saturday with no standing water left with the exception of a few puddles here and there so as long as the rain forecasted for Thurdsay and Friday don't make the ground too muddy we should be able to play this weekend!!

That's cool! Glad to hear your field is getting back into shape. Its pretty amazing how fast the water can recede after looking at those pics you posted.

You could always peg out a few swims, and hire the site for fishing instead? :D

Meanwhile.....

Here in the Uk we've just had our 1st real taste of spring. Weather guys now forecast a return to winter, with snow showers predicted for this weekend, and 3 guesses who's booked a team to play a 5 man woodland tournament on Sunday? - DOH!

Well guess what...?

We had 5 inches of snow Sunday & it scuppered our 5 man tournament. Game still went ahead but we had players stranded on route to site, and in the end decided to surrender our deposit rather than play short handed or risk injury on woodsball fields blanketed in snow.

So much for spring... Roll on summer

just Sittin Here Waiting For My Son. We Are Going To The Baseball Game Together And I Am Coaching Tonight And I Am Smiling While Reading All Your Posts. I Am Taking 6 Boys And Myself To The Indoor Field This Saturday For A Long Day Of Fun. My Timmy Is Ready And Waiting. The Only Drag Is That We Have To Drive An Hour To Get To The Field. We Were At The Field 2 Week Ago Friday Night All By Ourselves. It Got A Little Boring, Since We Had Noone To Play. The Manager Got A Call That 50 Newbies Were Coming In To Play. We Stayed Until Midnight Helping The Field Refs And Counter People Take Care Of Everyone. We Got Free Paint And 3 Days Of Free Amidission To The Field For Helping Out. We Helped The Losing Teams Play Better And Everyone Had A Great Time. I Will Let Everyone Know How This Saturday Went.

Funny! I'm going to a baseball game today.. Nats vs. Pirates - go Nats! :D

Only time I played at an indoor field it was horrible.. sawdust/wood chips for flooring, it was difficult to run and slide and the chips got everywhere. It was a winter tournament though so that was basically the only option at that time of year.

Hope you guys have a good time, is this the first time you will be trying out your new ramping modes on you guys WAS boards? :D

Yeah Go Nats! The Columbus Clippers is now the National's AAA Farm Club. Last year they were affiliated with the Yankee's.... I like the change personally.

Ah yes the Clippers! Yeah I remember reading about that change to being the Nats farm team. Nats took 3 of 4 from the Pirates this series.. it was a good time, the new Nationals Park is excellent.

GOOD AFTERNOON TO ALL:
Saturday paintball was great. There was about 12 players in advance group. We got in 7 hours of play. We used up about 3500 markers. Saturday was waste the freebie balls. We shoot at everything. The temp indoors was about 60 degree with sight rain on/off all afternoon. It was great in between games to go outside in the drizzle. My sons Timmy broke down and in between games we freshened it up and made the repairs. Other players were just amazed how quickly repairs were made. I was proud for the comment we got about the ease of repair on Timmy's.

The field set-up had no snake this week. Chicgo's team was praticing agains a Michigan team after hours to get ready for a tournment, that was why the bunker were really different this weekend. Our indoor field is played on artifical grass that has long woven loops. Traction is best with slightly coarse gym shoes or aggressive track shoes.
I WAS SHOOTING THE POOP WITH THE OWNER ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT HE IS IN A DEAL TO PURCHASE THE BUILDING AND TO ADD A SECOND INDOOR FIELD. He is also looking at an indoor restaurant, Pro Shop and waiting area away from the field and the mess. I hope that if any member gets to Chicago that they check Chicagoland Paintball.

Hey Crank, the updated WAS board worked perfect. I was asked to leave the field for shooting to fast. Had it set to 3 shot burst. I complaind to the owner and I got to use the 3 shoot burst as standard. It was great. I really hate ramping. I would look and then get a small burst off. We went 50 percent on the games. We decided to face off against the young guns. Anyone who was older than 21 was on one team and younger guns on the other. There was more young guns, but there was more to shoot at. I tought that I injured my left knee while sliding, but it feels better this afternoon. Going to play a senerio game this weekend at another field Saturday. A Rambo verses The VC. Looks like fun for all day.

Umm Yeah. When we got out of the car in our driveway Sunday after grabing our carryout lunch after Church I looked at both of my sons and just said "Get in the house RIGHT NOW" and I'm glad this was the one time they didn't argue or ask why, then my wife looked at me like I was the biggest jerk in the world so I said "You too, can't you hear the tornado sirens?" to which she said "Now I do" I grabbed the food and ran in myself and turned on the weather to find out there was a tornado spoted 25 miles from my house heading toward a town that was 16 miles north of us.. Happy Mothers Day!

Good Afternoon to everyone: My son's team won Friday night. Great way to start the weekend. Got up at 5:30 am to get ready for the group of kid to show up around 6:00 am. Had the hot cup of coffee and a great breakfast mad by the great wife. Door bell rang at 6:00 sharp. All little soldiers were there by 6:30. I took 6 boys ranging in age from 12 to 14 years old. Got to Fox Paintball Field at around 7:45 am and checked in. Found the General of our team and goit the lowdown. The fiels was wet from the recent rain. The senerio started at 10:00 am sharp. What a different game from Speedball. We had a great time. The field we played on had to cover at least 35 acres. By the time lunch came around I was totally ehausted. We had an ojective to capture the enemies headquarts that was located on a hill. I charged up that hill 3 times before securing the command post. The hill was about 75" high with a 60 degree incline. In my pod pack I took 5 full pods and 2 full bottles of water. We finished up at 7:00 pm. The boys all had a great time. I am trying to decide if I like speedball or woodsball. I am leaning to speedball.

Squirlly: wow a tornado for mother's day! that's probably not the mother's day surprise that wifey had in mind :D

ALENONE: sounds like a good time! I haven't played woodsball in a long time but I always had fun doing it - its always neat to go out on a walk-on or scenario game for a change of pace to the speedball.

I was just out playing paintball at a friends B-day yesterday, the day was said since the kid ended up having to go to the hospital for what is believed to be either a stroke, but in the couple of games that we got to play it was really fun to get to finally get to shoot some people this year.

05-19-2008, 05:13 PM
WOW.. that's not good.. did you find out if it was actually a stroke? Not just heat exhaustion or dehydration?

IRStookmySpyder
05-19-2008, 09:00 PM
Crankwalk- I talked to one of his closer friends and they said it had part to do with a severe migraine that he had, and the heat also had a bit of an effect since he was wearing so many layers of clothing. He got out of the hospital real late that night and was in school today.
