I know that this has been done to an LPR but I could not find it on a torpedo if so please let me know

got this idea from here
http://www.pbnation.com/showthread.php?t=3035824

after working with the valves this was the best option I got

get a hard ball detent & cut the tip

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/juitpower/aka%20torpedo/IMG_1481.jpg

do a hole on the center with a thin nail or a board pin

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/juitpower/aka%20torpedo/IMG_1480.jpg

use this new "valve seal" and glue the flat base to the valve pin with crazy glue

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/juitpower/aka%20torpedo/IMG_1483.jpg

this wil give better stability to the valve and great flow

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/juitpower/aka%20torpedo/IMG_1371.jpg

I did a recharge test and it worked sooooooooooo sweet

I put a shrader valve from a 360 and fit'd

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/juitpower/aka%20torpedo/IMG_1375.jpg

also the piston are cross compatible

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/juitpower/aka%20torpedo/IMG_1376.jpg

if you plan to use the stock piston you will need to drill a hole on it so the shrader valve pin go inside the piston

http://i494.photobucket.com/albums/rr301/juitpower/aka%20torpedo/IMG_1377.jpg

also this worked great with the LPR and wont have the issue of the short valve pin

IMPORTANT INFO JUST ADDED PLEASE READ

OK on a hardcore test we found the following:

First:
we have 2 versions of the valve pins
they are different in thickness
one is thiner than the other one
on the newest regs B.L. used a thicker valve pin the cant be used with this MOD

the second and most important:
the oring can go inside if you use HI output tanks wich means that preassure can bypass the valve
if you use an SLP tank like I did you wont have any problems

the best soution for this is:

get a hard ball detent & cut the tip

do a hole on the center with a thin nail or a board pin

use this and glue it with crazy glue

thats it

Hey juit, even if we are running a stock HPR without this mod, would there be any performance increase from running LP or SLP on a gen3?

(i know both can work fine)

yes and no newer sharader valves werent designed for lower pressures but they can still work fine

with SLP you will get more shots from a fill thats all

your HPR reg will be tuned to 325 PSI on a SLP so you'll have untill that level of air for your last shots

if you are running a HP output you will have until 900 PSI

look it this way

HP tanks you are only using 80% of a fill
LP 90%
SLP 98%

on a G6R 8% of air it really matters

this Mod will give you the edge for faster recharge rates

Maybe i am misunderstanding this, but if using an slp reg, you set your hpr to 325psi? Can a torp (or any reg) even go that high?

nop, sorry about my english

lets say you tuned your ND to 200 PSI

if you use a SLP you will tune your HPR "torpedo" tunned from that output

Tank SLP>Torpedo>Volume chamber on the FB
325 PSI>Regulating>200PSI

not until you hit lower that 325 on your tank the output of the torpedo will vary

if you hit lower than 900 PSI on a HPA ragulated tank the pressure from the torpedo will slightly increment because it dosen't have that amout of pressure to lower the spring down and shut off the shrader valve
this not only affects your count shots also will bring you FPS increments and get some free penaltys

starving HPA tank>torpedo>volume chamber on the FB
800PSI>regulating>220PSI + lower pressures on your LPR

the older Shrader valve isnt designed for slow and low pressures it is designed for 900 output tanks used back in the days

we can use LP tanks on them but torpedo wasnt designed for that tank

thats why BL made a wide ported torpedos used on the Gen 3 & 4 but didn't upgraded the valve pin he instead brought a more resistant but thicker shrader pin to fix the bended pin problem

more thicker pin = les air flow through the core hole

you need a HI FLOW valve on it thats why BL kept the new hi flow shrader valve on the G6R on the 360 reg

a simple experiment is to fine tune your marker to a HP tank then just put a LP tank and youll see that your marker have different Pressures

gotcha!
