hey guys... first off wanted to say im glad to join the timmy family, but starting off very horribly... i am building a timmy from scratch and finally just got all the parts only to have a huge leak... it seems to be comin from all around the ram sleeve, so i am wondering if it could actually be the ram sleeve... i put new o-rings on sleeve, ram poppit, lubed them, got a new poppit, even put it all in a different body to make sure it wasn't a body puncture... put some teflon on the ram to body set screw and that helped a little but still same leak no matter what i do... so could it be a crappy sleeve?? please help, i wanna finally be able to fire my timmy... thanks for any advice...

rockinthegz:tried that, still same prob...
crank: it was real bad comin from where the body, sleeve set screw is (with the screw in) so i put some teflon. that helped with that spot, now it has a little hiss, but it is comin out through the body between the sleeve and body, up the feedneck (through the whole where the bolt gets the air) and slightly in between the asa and body, but not as bad now...

ram sleeve orings sound like them are bad. you might have punctured the body

have you inspected the hoses for tears or the barbs for cracks? also are you using the fiber washer on the barbs? could be leaking from that area as well

barbs seem good, hoses are good, and they they washers...
could it be the actual ram sleeve because there a few scratches on it, but nothing too major...

Well basically if you had a leak out of the ram sleeve retaining screw it sounds like bad ram sleeve o-rings (which you said you already changed), or a punctured ram sleeve. The leaks coming up the bolt area sound like the ram o-rings need replacing but you said you already did that as well...
Ram sleeve o-rings can slice easily when you put the sleeve back in the body if not lubed generously enough with Dow55 so it slides instead of catching on the sharp milled parts of the body when installing.

i put plenty of lube on them when sliding it back in, so basically i am going to try and find a new ram sleeve and see if that helps... hopefully it will, i really want to shoot my baby... thanks for all the help crank, ill post when i get a new sleeve and see how that goes...

No problem, hopefully its the sleeve. Otherwise post back up and let us know there may be some other things to try.
