The guy I got this from said it was a 2k5 but I think its a 2k2 or it could be a 2k5 with a 2k2 LPR, please post if you know what you are talking about!

I would venture to guess that is a 2k5'd 2k2 marker. It looks like the standard 2k2 clamshell frame has been replaced with a 2k5 frame, however the LPR, HPR, and front block are what would originally come with a factory 2k2.
From our "Intimidator Library" thread here (http://www.intimidatorowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136):
2k2:

But in any case, NICE ANNO on that marker you have

Yea the anno is nice but if its a 2k2 the guy is going to need to pay me
EDIT- Anymore opinions? I really need to know for sure.

listen to crankwalk. He knows his stuff and gave you pics of the two different variations.
But like he said sweet anno/laser work

It is pretty much impossible to tell. The only reason why crankwalk thinks that it is a 2k2 instead of a 2k5 is because of the front block, LPR, and HPR, which he could be right or it could be a 2k5 with just those 2k2 parts on it. Even if it is a 2k2 in those parts what does it matter it still has 2k5 internals so even if it was a 2k2 it is now almost the same as the 2k5. The 2k5's model of all of those parts aren't much different then the 2k2's parts. What I would do is check the solenoid, if the solenoid is off of a 2k2 then I would contact him and ask him about it since that would be on its way to dieing soon if it has had normal use throughout its life, but if it is a 2k5 I would freak out about it or anything. And like everyone else has said nice anno/laser engraving.

Alright cool.
But its definetly not laser, I do laser work.

trickedNME- Oh, do you work for a company doing it or do you do it independently?
Edit: I would go and ask crankwalk if you could buy one of his screw kits from him since some of yours look kind of rusty in the pictures.

I was actually just going to type up a response similar to IRStookmySpyder's - its going to be impossible to really tell, that's why I used the term "venture to guess" rather than "it definitely is"
To check what kind of noid it is, look at the colors of the wires coming off it - if its black/red wire then its a 2k5 noid .. if its black/green or black/black then its 2k2 or older.
Also, here's a question for you guys - did the 2k5 Timmy have an integrated Alias style or Empire I style poppet? Or did it still use the 2k2 style of individual poppet and cupseal disc? This may be another way to tell. This is something I never knew, on the 2k5s :D so if someone could enlighten me on that, it would be great!

I thought that is what the colors were but I didn't want to give him and others some false information so I left it for someone else to fill in. But you, Crankwalk, don't know something about Intimidators:eek: If only I knew the answer I would feel really smart right now, but I haven't owned a 2k5 yet so I don't know. Hoping that I will get the chance to once I get everything sorted out in my life and find more time for paintball.

I'm pretty sure it had an integrated head poppet but I'm not 100% :D
maybe lopez17 will drop by with an answer

yea, that isnt laser engraving. i've seen that done before and what they do is they anno it a dust color and then buff/shine the parts that they want to stick out

Not to be a Donkey on this one Nj but please can you expand that answer?
What makes you say that just so I can learn the little trick you used to help me ID other Timmys in the future.

It definatly looks like its been 2k5'd to me. But ive never owned a 2k5 so how the heck should i know?? If u compare the pics though, it has 2k2 lpr and hpr but the back of the gun is longer like the pic of the silver 2k5 and also the frame is way tinier. Thats just from what i can see. Can someone clear this up?

look at the 2k2 version of that timmy then look at the 2k5 version of that timmy. look at the milling design. timmy's are hard to tell apart so you gotta look for the smallest things that tell them apart.

So it's the milling, thanks for answering my question and I bet you were good at thoes "What 6 things are different in these two pictures" things when you were a kid, heck I still play that game at Pizza Hut every time I go in LOL.

Nj_Balla791- What differences do you see in the bodies? The bodies look exactly the same to me. Yes the reg, feed neck, and every other part may look different but that doesn't mean that it isn't a 2k2 body.

okay, look at the two pics. look at the back of the body milling.

okay, look at the two pictures. look at the 2k5 body how the milling is slightly slanted and a tad smaller but better 3-d milling and more smooth. the 2k2 has an un-finished type look to the milling. less smooth i guess u could say?

i think it just looks different milling because of the different annoings.

I agree with Crankwalk (as usual), mainly due to the front block, but that being said, it's hard to say with 100% certainty. Here's the reason why. BLAST was putting out markers near the end of the Gen3 life just to clear out remaining inventory of bodies/parts/etc. It's not unrealistic to see bodies with older front blocks on them because that's what they had laying around. Do you know what the stock board was in the marker? Even the poppet could be a red herring as it wouldn't surprise me if BLAST was out of Empire poppets and used some 2K2 poppets with cupseals.
Honestly, an updated 2K2 and a stock 2K5 aren't significantly different (they both used that 2K2 body with 2K5 parts) and really the cost difference wouldn't be any different. The anno you have is probably the main cost driver IMHO.
