Are mods the only users on here who can delete posts? I think it would be a lot better if regular users had the option to delete posts so we can clean up mistakes faster instead of taking up space with an undesired double post. Idk just an idea to throw out there.

I second this motion.

I've never understood why we can't delete our own posts.

It took PBN awhile before we could do that, maybe it has to do with the version of vbulletin the forum runs on or maybe its a scripted that has to be add'd.

Honestly I think its the default for the forum software. Let me look into it and see how easy this could be. Of course, other people may say that not allowing users to delete posts may cut down on abuse or scamming in BST.

See if its possible to have it everywhere but the BST.

Just a thought.

I'm pretty sure you can't delete posts in the PBN b/s/t.

You can't. But I agree to not allow deletion in the B/S/Ts but the regular forums.

All in favor for allowing users to delete their own posts outside of the B/S/T? Quote this in agreement lul

Crank - Even if the user deletes their post, it's a soft delete, moderators can still see it like when we soft delete a post. That way it can be resurrected if there's fraud.

Interesting. If that's true then I have no problem allowing users to delete posts across the forums (including BST).

Mudder.. care to help to test? I'll update the permissions. Please create a BST post and title it something like "Testing" (so it's obvious) then delete it, and post back here when you're done so we can go check it out.

Thanks.

Just deleted it. When you click the delete button in quick edit it will drop down & ask if you want to or not & a spot for a reason. Clicking advanced, the new window that opens has the same delete options above the text box.

Nice. Worked perfectly. You've deleted it but as lopez said, it is 'soft' deleted so Mods can still see it, and regular users can't.

So the change has been made permanent. IOG users can now delete their own posts. Enjoy.
