Hey everyone, I'm going to show you a problem i ran into with my Cam drive ASA that i got off of ebay and what i did to fix it. (sorry for the crap load of text)
So i bought this gloss black ASA off of ebay for like 28 bucks shipped. Its in great condition when i get it. I hook it up to my rail, insert macroline, and try to adjust the distance to where i want it. The macroline i was trying to use was a little short. No worries, i had a foot of macroline laying around. I go to remove the macroline from the ASA.......stuck. hmmm, thats odd. (yes, i know how to remove macro line) so i try and try to remove it, nothing works. so after reading some forums and watching a couple videos, i decide the only way to salvage this is to remove the macroline in any way possible, and replace/fix the fitting. So i snip the macroline close to the ASA, and try doing all kinds of crap to get it out. (cutting the sides and trying to remove it, screw driver, etc) nothing works. then i saw that you can remove the whole fitting with a 3/16 allen key. oo bad its too wide to fit through the fitting with the macroline in place. so i drill through the line until i can fit the allen key in, and BAM, remove the whole fitting. Oddly enough, the end of the macroline actually got wound up the drill bit and came out that way.
Well, all is great now, i clean out the ASA and fitting, and put it all back together, but now, the fitting isnt catching the macroline when i insert it. Talked to some guys, figured id have to replace the fitting (cheaper than the whole ASA) So i call up blast, and within 3 minutes, i have instructions on how to replace the fitting collar, and make it as good as new, with all parts i had in my possession.

If you pull hard enough on the collar with some pliers, it will pop out.

After you remove the collar, you can see an o-ring inside the fitting. Replace this o-ring with a size 010.

You can kind of see the teeth on the bottom of the collar, make sure they arent all bent up/crossed over each other. Or replace the collar with one from any fitting, they are basically universal.

Put it all back together, and your fitting should be good as new.

Only the back part of the fitting that comes with it will fit in there (other fittings have the hex sided part so you can use a wrench if needed. so if anyone finds them self in the same position, i hope this helps. But maybe you should find a better way to get that macroline out instead of stabbing the crap outta it
