Those have been around for a while now. I've heard some people do seem to like them in order to tidy up the wiring/hosing in their grip frames but at 20.00 I think its a bit much for something that does so little.

Like jenious said for $20 it's a bit much. On the other hand it will help keep your wires and hose off of the trigger. If you have the extra cash go for it.

I've used them for years. I like the 187 one better but it's not around anymore. It keeps the hoses off the trigger.

They work nicely to keep the hoses from dragging on the trigger. If you are cost-conscious this can also be achieved by finding the right type of coiled spring and routing it along the hose where it touches the trigger so then it just glides over it.

That's not my marker and I'm not sure what kind of spring the owner of that marker used, but its a good example of modding. I believe a large pen spring had been used in one case..

Having said that, I do like the idea of the aftermarket hose guards but I've owned that Jockstrap and for me, it was so tall that it put a kink in the hose coming of the noid barb that goes to the front block. This was using high flow tubing.. perhaps using the smaller cocker hose with this particular hose guard would yield better results.

But the hose guard I like the best, is the old Violent Products one

It worked great with the larger high-flow tubing because the guard was just large enough to provide a barrier between the hose and the trigger but not overly tall like the Jockstrap design.

Only problem is.. VP no longer makes this part...

Sounds like a good start for upgrades - if it doesn't have an adjustable ram cap I'd also suggest that

Bump Paintball had a few of those VP hose guards around but that was 18 months ago. I'm using one in my Ripper right now and it can still kink the high flow hose. You just have to be careful and a bit creative.

Unrelated, I believe Bump also had the VP teflon bolts at that time - I should have bought all of them :D. I checked their online store (http://bumppaintball.com/product/markerParts/timmyParts/index.html) and it looks like right now their inventory for VP products only consists of $15 single rebuild o-ring kits. Could be a different story if one were to call the store though, who knows.

I did eventually find some used VP bolts (2k2 and Alias style) in BST threads that I will keep around for projects and general tomfoolery
