Hello and welcome, try these settings to start - they are commonly used
BIP 2ms
Dwell 9ms
Bolt Forward/Bolt Delay 15ms
LPR at 65psi (this is my suggestion for a Gen4, normally recommended higher for Gen3)
Mbounce at 1
Debounce at 4
eyes set to "force" mode
overbore to .693 or .696 barrel
The * does indicate some sort of eye malfunction but it could also mean the eyes are dirty and not exactly "bad". Try pulling the eye covers off, and the eyes out, clean them well and see if the * persists.
okay thanks i will try that tonight.
is there anything i should know about timmys?
good?
bad?
what needs to be upgraded?
i have a cp reg. and a dye ul barrel.
thanks

All good, nothing bad :D
But seriously, take a look at our Recommended Intimidator Upgrades (http://www.intimidatorowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=102) thread, and the rest of the posts in our Articles section (http://www.intimidatorowners.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=4) for a ton of good things to read. You could also check the Ultimate Sticky (http://www.intimidatorowners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=26) for even more info.
k thanks
i guess the biggest thing is that i must remember it is a open bolt gun. and not go sliding in the sand face first :)
thanks

If you are reading the "recomended upgrades" sticky, take it with a grain of salt. That guide was designed for gen 3 initmidators. Gen 4 dosn't really require those as they are built in, stock.
I have not had a problem with doubble feeding or chopping with the stock detents on my gen 4 (but since intimidator detents are not spring detents I am going to get killah's eventually)
the gen4's come with an adjustable ram cap, if you try to put in the engi-ram in a gen4 you will have more problems than gains (it causes poppet float, lopez can explain...but long story short it's bad).
regulators, wouldn't bother unless you are going for uniqueness the stock ones actually preform quite well.
Ramsleeve really can't be changed, it's a diffrent size then the gen3's and gen5's
Noid/eyes/board/trigger/barrel/feedneck/bolt: really all prefrence, I'm still using all stock parts (except the board because mine had issues do to me doing dumb stuff, user error) and I still occasionally use the stock barrel, but all my guns are cocker threaded so I have a nice kit I move to the gun I am currently using.
Just remeber if it's not broke don't fix it...and enjoy the intimidator.

Just remeber if it's not broke don't fix it.
Just felt that needed to be said again and louder.
The guy I bought my Alias from put so many upgrades on my marker that it's only 1/2 Timmy and 1/2 Aftermarket.
2K4 Alias
Shocktech Bolt (What was wrong with the stock one)
Upgraded Poppit (Again stock one still works)
Malicious Intent Hater Chiped Lucky Board (Still have WORKING stock board)
Critical Trigger (Ok I do like this trigger but I have 2 more if I want)
Adjustable Ram Cap (Yeah this was needed)
On/Off ASA (I don't think it even came with an ASA so yeah needed)
Clamping Feedneck (I added this one, stock one don't go small enogh for VL hoppers)
In 2007 I paid $300 for this so how much money did the guy I bought it from sink into a Timmy he used for 3 years? plus $25 for the feed neck
If it ain't broked don't futz with it, and upgrades don't add enough to the resale to make them worth it if the stock part is still working.

hey thanks guys for all the help.
i popped my eye covers off and just as i thought the past owner had the wire pinched. that was causing my eyes not to work. so i tried to fix it and the wire was slit in half where it was pinched. insted of being cheap and getto i ordered new eye and opted not to electric tape it back together :)
thanks

Glad to hear you figured out the problem. Yes its probably best that you purchased a new eye but did you check the other side as well to make sure the other one wasn't pinched either? :)
yes i did. and yes it was. so i ordered both.
thanks for all the help and advice guy

No problem glad to help!
went and played today at my local field and the gun worked great. i didnt get to really rip paint because i had to play without my eyes cuz they are broke at the moment. the gun shot great and i only had to chops. the chops happend went i tried to rip paint. after seeing the paint dripping off the barrel and my paintballs made left and right hand turns i was quickly reminded of the no eyes situation.
being new to timmys i would say they are very nice guns. i am super happy with this purchase and cant wait until i get my eyes in tues. and go play again
thanks guys

b22- Glad to hear that you had a great experience with your timmy. I had to run my timmy without eye during a tournament before and that wasn't much fun, as soon as I put new eyes in it I loved everything about the gun.
just got my new eye and i put them in! i am still getting a * what the heck is wrong with my eyes? all i did was unplug my old ones and plug the new ones in. did i do anything wrong. do i need to reset something..
help.
thanks

hmmm no you don't have to reset anything but are the eyes aligned correctly? did the eyes come with little o-rings around them? you may try putting small bits of paper towel behind the eyes in the eye covers.
a way to test if alignment is the issue, take the eyes out of the marker and manually point them at each other as straight as you can, pull the trigger and see if the * persists
eyes are working and it knows if my finger is in the breach or not. but it still gives me a * after i pul the trigger and pull my finger out. is that normal? is anyone has time to call me my # is 214 707 6621. i live in dallas tx
thanks

Here's a dumb question - this second time you're testing your marker and getting the * .. are you using paint?
for some strange reason i got i tired of messing with my marker so i put it all back together and set it down. it was still getting a * when i quit.. but later that night i picked it up turned it on and oh shiiiiiiiittzzzzz it worked perfect! i hope it stays that way
thanks for all your help crank

b22- I thought that the * meant that there isn't anything in the breech? Just trying putting paint in the marker and see if it goes away.

I asked about the paint because I've seen aftermarket boards flash error lights if you're testing and dry firing without paint, using a barrel swab or your finger in the breech.. because simply blocking the eyes doesn't match the eye logic the board is programmed for. It wants to see something block the eyes then that something disappear quickly (paint shoot out) and then be blocked again quickly (ball loaded from hopper a split second later) - If something is perpetually blocking the eyes it may think there's something wrong (perhaps a ball shell stuck in the breech, or paint has exploded and covered the eyes) but I don't remember if the Frenzys flash the * doing this though so thats why I was asking.
ya i tried it with paint and the * stopped. i think you are right about the finger or swab idea.
thanks guys
