Do any of you who play in the damp/wet regularly use any waterproofing on your hopper or gun boards? I have seen this product called Liquiguard CC (http://shop.liquiguard.com/product.sc?productId=192&categoryId=-1) (CC = conformal coating?) that suposedly seals out moisture.

According to the website it "is the only coating that will continue to protect the electronic device in case the device accidentally becomes fully immersed in water or other non-corrosive liquid. The device will remain protected while staying immersed extended periods." That is a huge claim and if it is true then it should be well worth the advertised price.
Any thoughts on this or are there other/better products out there? Yeah, I know, don't go swimming or deep sea diving with my paintball gear. Actually I have not had a problem directly related to water getting on the circuit card of any of my gear.
It does work (Or at least a certain brand does). I recall a presentation on the local naval base that worked extensively to develop stuff like this and the guy dropped his black berry and ipod into a bowl of water with no consequence.

Yeah, I work at Tobyhanna Army Depot (http://www.tobyhanna.army.mil) and they do lots with electronics but at the industrial level (think 55 gallon drum) and I was just wondering since it has been so wet this spring if anyone was using this or similar on their gear. I am not down in the maintenance shops on the Army side but am a DoD tennant on the base so I haven't really spoken with the technicians to get their take on it.

I may have to look into this. Thanks!
I doubt many people have even looked for the application to waterproof their boards. Most grips are designed to seal around the grip frame so that minimal moisture enters

I would much rather seal the crap out of the frame & gun rather than coat the board.

That's way too much work just to protect the board electronics from moisture. You would need to seal the ASA mounting holes, around the membrane or switch, the huge opening between body & frame, the right hand side grip screw holes, the trigger/switch openings, the left hand side grip screw holes, the clam shell seam, the LCD window seam, etc. and it would be a real pain to change the battery. I think I would prefer to remove the board and spray a conformal coating (made for electronics) on the board if moisture was an issue for me.

Wire it up for a rechargeable battery, port & all. Then drill a couple really small holes in hard to see spots then fill the frame with an easy to clean up later waterproof thing?
^^ Again to much work but an idea.

This is precisely the type of coating Will and BLAST apply to their Boards. I found out because I received a Yakuza from will that had microswitch sticking issues and when I called him to ask what the issue was, he explained it was probably some of the waterproof coating making its way past the masking and onto the switch. Just clean it off with a Q-tip and some alcohol and it should be fine.
This was something they thought of after having to play in a few tourneys with downpours that damaged some boards on some of the players' Markers.
