On page 6 from that site (http://www.lovethisgame.info/review/timmy.htm) it has the following two images showing a bolt movement without an adjustable ram cap:

and with an adjustable ram cap:

I know that on the 2k2 Timmies it was a good idea to have part of the bolt still showing in the feedneck when "at rest" (hence the market for adjustable ram caps) but is it the same for the Alias?

I've trawled through the maintenance threads on here and the Nation but can't find any info... maybe i'm not looking hard enough!

The bolt in my A-Bomb sits perfectly lined up with the back of the feed tube when at rest with the stock ram cap.

Thanks,

Stan

Hello, I've moved your post out of the Articles thread and into its own thread out here in the Intimidator Discussion - I feel it may be useful for others to see and easier to find in its own thread rather than being buried in the Intimidator Library post.

To answer your question, it is exactly the same for Aliases. It is recommended that 1/16" or so of the bolt be showing INTO the breech just like that first picture, to prevent rollback and feeding/chopping issues. Stock ram caps on Aliases were non-adjustable so it was highly recommended to get an adjustable ram cap upgrade.

Thanks! :D

(So, if BLAST knew that everyone was upgrading their ram caps on the 2k2, etc why didn't he make it OEM equipment on the newer versions?)

Well, they did make an adjustable cap OEM, it just took them until Gen4 to do it on all their markers. But oddly, the Empire 1 (2k4 model) had an adjustable "spike" style ram cap to go with the 2k2 ram with bumper removed that came stock with the marker. The Empire 1 was all sorts of a hybrid between a 2k2 and 2k5. More like a Gen 2.5 lol.
