Hey guys, i want to do something unique on my ripper 2. I was thinking of getting it polished or Aurora plated. I found a company that could do the aurora its just more expensive than the polishing. Tell me what you guys think would look better. Heres my gun at the moment:

Don't think I have ever seen an aurora ripper 2

That would be pretty damn unique

Thats what i was leaning towards. only problem it costs more than the gun is worth and I don't think the company hasn't done a paintball gun yet so I'm not sure how the aurora would hold up

ODD paintball used to do the Aurora or oilslick anno/finish.
They look sick on ANY gun, and are so nice to look at. But with the costs of the finish being what they are its not worth it for a gun worth $250-$350.

Meh rippers are cool no matter what people say they are worth

Well i bought this gun from Alex Savino of Infamous and he got it from Terry Fong. The back of the gun where the bolt goes has been milled off some. I just think thats pretty cool. I also bought an assassins frame and a racegun solenoid for it and I plan on getting an oled board and eigenram. Its a little project build so i figured id do something to make it look really nice.

Yeah guns don't have to be expensive for them to be cool. These guns also shoots great and can still compete in a tournament environment

If you plan on keeping it then go for aurora.. but even if you have the slightest gun whore tenancy then don't spend the extra $$

Fallin is right, if you honestly plan to keep it forever, or atleast for as long as you see yourself playing, spend the dime or two on a different ano. Something that will make people step back & say DAMN. Other wise your just shooting a stock ripper.

I say get it plated, just do it tastefully. Do black accents or it becomes way too busy looking.

Thats exactly what I'm trying to do. Aurora and polished guns are definitely the most flashy

Aurora plated with black accents or a single color plating?

Oil slick/aurora on the WHOLE gun, to me is to much. Use a solid black or other accent color to break it up & give it some depth.

To me oil slick with black parts ruins the theme. The point to it is to make it too much.
But as others have said, if you even think you MIGHT sell this gun DONT DO THE AURORA!
You'll lose way too much $$$ if you sell. I lost ~$200 when I sold my ST Gen 3, and I had a plain anno done.

i already spent about $200 and i plan on spending another $200 on parts so I'm definitely not selling it. In an unrelated note the assassins frame i just got is amazing haha. i agree with you on the all aurora. The oil slick dm7s with black uls just don't look right with the frame and barrel being black

Only thing I really have left to say is, put the parts you want into it. Just be careful about going overboard. It's easy to put too much money into a custom gun, you might get done and realize you just spent enough money to get a G6R lol.
I put over $600 in parts into my Shocktech Gen 3, and my anno was relatively cheap( and I didn't put in all the parts you want).

yeah it really can get quite expensive very easily. I bet it feels better when you're done a project gun than buying a new gun though

Expensive.... can get there FAST. I had a solid $700 in my Classic project when I parted it out. Still wasnt done collecting parts. Plus I had a little machining to get done on the body & some barrel machining. Then ano & all that crap at the end of a project. IF I would have finished it, it would be an easy $1000+ Gen1 & it wasnt even a Ripper!! Now I have my Rage & dont give a flip about cost which might be why its taking so long to finish.
