Is a new vice worth the cost or is it just as good building up a gen 3 or gen 4. I really like the looks of the naughty dogs timmy but not sure what way to go.
Thanks!!

IF you can afford and justify spending the $$$ the VICE is da bomb..

The Vice is very well worth the money.Standard features alone will save you some troubles of finding and later installing upgraded parts such as the Pillow bolt, lever lock clamping feed, and the list goes on.These are very light/thin markers, which is the trend that players crave for these days.Fill up your tank, and go shoot to your hearts content,as they are very efficient. The sound signature is soft, and at no time should you or your team have any problems hearing yours or others field instructions.Smooth as silk, properly tuned, allows little if any kick. How about getting around 10 cases of paint shot, before doing maintance cleaning and a lube job, very very easy to maintain. If you ever need other service, then Blast is there waiting on your call,as they have the best customer support going IMO.

I see it everyday, guys bringing their EGO's in,and then wanting to check out my 2 Vices.Worth the money you ask, these Ego guys pay upwards of 1100-1800 for their marker, that THEY lay claims to of having killed the Timmy...and my Vice will perform just as good,if not better, and I still got money in my pocket.Whats not to like?

Think of an Ego that is fully upgraded, now think of saving $500.

The Vice performs the same, if not better than any Ego.

That is the Vice!!!

It's a very high performing marker for the price. I've been very happy with mine since it arrived in Feb. The only real upgrades for it are the trigger, board (to a Yakuza) and the 4C eyes. Though if you wanted to upgrade the ASA you could.

The Vice straight out of the box, after setting up your LPR is awesome, but if you like to gain a little more control over your marker,as Lopez has said, get the Yakuza OLED board-4C eye system-and either a Power or Acid custom trigger. For an even softer sound signature, one can install the new LP Valve, this not only softens the shot signature, and lets you reduce your LPR pressure even more so than the 70 psi Blast says in the best setting stock, but combined with the Pillow bolt that comes stock in the Vice, allows one to shoot even the most brittle paint out there.Ball chops,I've had both mine for a couple months now,and still yet to see a chop or break.

I was at a 26hr scenario just last weekend, and got to again shoot-it-up against the Blues Crew, and we all know the amount of paint they can let loose. After the first couple sessions, alot of those guys looked me up,and wanted to see what was messing up their advances, which most made the long walk back to the deadbox. The marker does not make the player,BUT when you can play on their level, and take full advantage of your equipment, then that advantage can and will make the difference in the field. Lopez, what kind of settings are you running with your setup if you dont mind me asking?

I have some "experimental" stuff in there right now that I'm testing for someone who will remain nameless but I dropped my LPR to 60, Dwell at 7 and HPR to velocity with the stock poppet this weekend and I'm zipping paint with a smoother stroke on the ball.

Stock configuration, dwell is 6, Debounce 2, mbounce 0, LPR 70 and HPR to velocity. No issues in the time I've owned it doing that. It has a Power Trigger, Yakuza and 4C eyes. I use a CP kit (.689 back for the last few weeks) and a CP direct mount ASA with an RF'd Pulse. I've been getting about +/- 3 over the chrono.

Personally I'm not a fan of the vice, not at all due to it's preformance.

I just am not crazy about the milling, but that shouldn't stop you from picking one up.

It's a nice intimidator, and all intimidators are nice

However for me the prefomance gains are not substantial enough to pack away my gen4 infamous, because I find that gun sexy as hell and it still outpreforms what I ask from it. If I personally was to go gen5 I'd get the protogee and upgrade as nessasary because I like that milling pattern better.

But it's a known fact that the Vice milling is a love/hate kind of thing.

That is what I was really want to see, if it was a performance or just a look upgrade from a gen 3 or 4 with all of the upgrades. I'm sure it would still be an upgrade but would it really be worth the price.

Thanks

Something to consider that no one really says because it's bad for sales. The last few years the upgrades to markers have not been all that astounding. Yes there have been upgrades, and stock markers now sell with better parts and no need for "ups". But the diffrences between an 06 (or even eariler) and an 08 arn't that life changing. Consider what you need/want with what you have already and make the decision that's right for you. Afterall there is a reason why players out there still use 03-04 AKA markers, 02 Emags, gen3 intimidators...they are amazing markers and even then were build to exceed the need of todays player and rules.
