Trigger Question

Will a gen3 CP trigger work in a gen4? I'm under the impression that it won't, but I need to know for a buyer.

You guys might want to call or email CP about it.. but I remember reading a post somewhere that Gen4 triggers were supposed to be backwards compatible with Gen3's... however I can't be certain the other way around. Sorry I am no help :) I'd really like to know this for sure as well. Maybe if someone out there has both a gen3 and gen4 they could try swapping triggers around for us?

Yes I'm curious as well.. I had both a Gen3 and a Gen4 at one point but I never bothered to check the compatibility of the triggers. Sometimes there are little nuances that keep triggers from fitting certain frames.. for example, the trigger hood on 2k5 frames won't allow a 2k2 trigger with the larger diameter around the trigger pin hole/bearing to fit.. but that type of trigger would fit an Alias frame because the Alias frame doesn't have that trigger hood. I know Gen4 and Gen3s use the same type of trigger pivot screw, and the same type of board so it would make sense that they could use the same trigger :confused:.

I was looking at pictures in someone's B/S/T thread and gen3 and gen4 triggers looked VERY similar, but like you said, some very little things could stop it from fitting.

It's a gen3 CP Scythe (at least I think that's what they call it).

Yeah I know from experience how annoying that can be. I bought 2 Angel IR3 triggers assuming they would fit into a pretty standard 45 frame, but the LCD triggers were made slightly differently. Point is, you never know what might stop it from fitting.. or why the company would design it that way :P

Infamous (I was mistaken), It was an aftermarket trigger, and I know a lot of the subtle nuances between the gen 3 and gen 4's may not be fabricated into aftermarket triggers. Even if it doesn't fit just right then I am positive that a small modification would allow it to work.

The empire I was referring to was a the empire 3, the gen 4
