It may be time to shake the dust off

Hey everyone, it's been several years since I've even thought about paintball, let alone post in this forum. I've been putting some thought to getting back into the swing of things. Can anyone fill me in on what the sport has been through in the past... Idk... 5 years?

Corporate buyouts, spools getting as efficient and reliable as poppets, Bob actually producing 2 different spools, a few companies coming and going, NPPL dying; now possibly coming back, PSP dying and NXL taking it's place, Smart Parts making a new high end ion and calling it a shocker (it's pretty nice for what it is) under the name "shocker paintball". AA few other thing have probably happened, but I don't pay attention too closely unless it affects the technology/process that goes into developing/making markers.

I like seeing all the new high ends coming out, I've noticed that the guns I'd drool over 5 years ago are ~500 and under and that makes me super happy. I've owned everything under the sun but I miss my vice and all the gen 3's I've owned..

That's certainly a plus of taking a hiatus like that. Top of the line stuff gets a lot cheaper once you come back.

Tournament paintball has basically imploded. Large events like Fulda Gap and Living Legends (and the offshoot LL games) are as big as ever. There's even a 10 man game at world cup this year.
